I tried to update my original thread that was in the archives, but didn't know if anyone would see it. I really wanted to let folks know that the local dealership really came through. We hear so many stories where the dealer didn't meet expectations, so I wanted make sure I reported on one that did.

So here is the post:

I need to give you an update, especially to let all know that the local dealer really came through. As stated at the beginning of this thread the tech messed up on getting the broken bolts out. The Service Manager said he would make it right, and he did. This is how he went beyond my expectations:

-- The shop foreman took over the project and was able to get the bolts out. The aft hole was elongated so he drilled it out and put in a helicoil (or something similar). He went with a larger size bolt that the original. He drilled the forward hole out to a larger size and tapped it.

-- They ordered a 09 kickstand at their cost and installed it. The 09 has a third bolt, so the drilled a taped a new hole to fit the stand.

-- They replaced the broken turn signal lens at their cost.

-- That had to remove the muffler assembly which meant they had to drain the oil, so they did a oil and filter change with HD Synthetic

-- Downloaded the latest ECM update and did an quick check to confirm the bike was running

-- Called me several times to give me updates.

-- Allowed me to inspect the repair before the new kick stand was installed.

I have gone from frustration over the botched repair... to being a satisfied customer. When the Service Manager said they would make it right.... they did.

Since this a positive post.... Pikes Peak Harley & Buell in Colorado Springs, is the dealer that made it right. I have been developing more of a relationship with High Country Buell, even though they are 1 1/2 hours away because they seem to be very Buell friendly; but Pikes Peak came through for me.
