I bought these two Uly seats in a "lot" purchase of Buell seats. They have '06 date stamps in the seat pan molding, but want to confirm that they are 2006 standard and low seats. What changes has Buell made in the seats since 2006?

Thanks, Loren

I have both in Barricade Orange. The '07 up seat, I do not have, is a little lower in the riders seat area than the original '06 standard, with the front being narrowed for ease of reaching the ground. The seat pan is the same for all of them.

I use the original seat for touring where I will be doing more than a couple hundred miles in a day. I like the gel padded '06 low for around town, easier footing when stopped. Throw on the Air Hawk and either are good for the long haul, and better heat insulation.

Also, the low is better for side to side movement in the twisties, not only because it is lower, but the material has less friction, where the standard '06 seat material is more "grippy" on the riding pants.

Vern, Thanks! That is what I thought but wanted to confirm. Compared to the rest of the Buell line these are HUGE seats. Look like they would be real comfortable.

Gowindward- In case you're interested in what they look like on the bike and what effect they have on leg reach, M2nc posted a series of comparison photos of all 3 seats a while back:

I also have both seats: the black '06 "standard" from my deer-strike bike, and the orange '06 "low" from the replacement Uly I bought.

Use the "low" for commuting and the "standard" for trips. Works out perfectly.

Never had a seat as comfortable as the '06 "standard."
