A riding buddy and I bought this set for a recent trip and give it 2 BIG thumbs up. Excellent battery life...never ran out of juice and we ran 8-9 hour days. Easy install, simple operation and clarity was just fine.

Used the phone feature once and the FM a few times but mostly just used the bike-to-bike intercom. Been riding for to many years to count now and never thought I would enjoy a headset but it thoroughly enhanced the riding to be able to talk with your buddy.

Range is probably a 1/4 to a 1/3 of a mile for intercom. Do not have GPS so don't know how that function would work but would expect it would be fine. At just under $250 for the set it was a great deal.

Was it $250 for the Multiset or just the individual system?

I have been looking into a communicator system but want to make sure that it has bluetooth voice-dial capabilities. It is my understanding that you only get this with the Q2 Multiset. Have you tried this yet? If so, how did it work?

Scala has an updated system coming out this fall, hence the reason for the drop in price.
See here for some details:

Frog, you will absolutely love it! $244 bought the set from JC motors with a crazy good warranty. It voice dials from your blue tooth phone and has automatic volume control as well as super great noise reduction.

No doubt Bluetooth technology is quickly getting better but this Q2 set is a very functional at a great price. No stereo or full A2DP but lets face it , this is motorcycle sound and mono is just fine.

The FM on the Cardo is just a bonus, yes tuning can be a pain , but it works and stations stay tuned in for many miles.

Priority is Phone, Intercom, GPS, FM, and then MP3. MP3 is via plug in at headset with the supplied coiled wire. Plugged the Nano in and it worked very well.

Verizon Envy phone works great with the Cardo set-up with full bluetooth fucntionality. Had to make a late evening call for a motel and it worked smoooooth.

I think the "technology" in these devices is in the execution of the bluetooth switching between devices. The Cardo is by no means perfect and at times the VOX will take over and reconnect intercom when you just want quiet. Whatever program Cardo has put in this device senses noise and then kicks the intercom back on in "priority" over say FM or MP3. Usually that takes a hard yell in the microphone, but sometimes it just kicked in and switched from FM to intercom.

Cardo did provide a way to program manual switch to intercom via a push of a helmet button. , so at least there is an option if the VOX starts to act up.

On my trial over 3 days and about 700 miles is that the device functions as advertised and seems to be well built for motorcycle use. Time will tell on that note.

My fear is weatherproofness, I haven't seen anything about it, and I ride in anything, and I mean ANYTHING. I made my "waterproof" Zumo die : )

Well.....no experience here on H20 proof. The Cardo manual says "weather resistant" and points out that the charging port is susceptible if the rubber plug is not replaced accurately.

If Cardo offered a dedicated full face helmet kit it may be a bit better to route the microphone via wire then one of the flex booms. The new Chatterbox XBi2 has full and open face kits.

Now just have to get the Shark evoline and it would be a near perfect set-up

This is a pretty awsum unit that does it all. Has a fantastic warranty, blue tooth 2 mile range, stereo and much more. I used their older models on the snowmobiles and it was perfect. These are much improved. Take a look http://www.collett.mb.ca/

I have had the Teamset version for about three years now. Very satisfied. As to weatherproofness. I have ridden in some pretty hard rains without a problem. Although the manual says this is not recomended.

Cardo does have an audio kit with a corded mic rather than the boom. However, it says that it is mono. Has anyone tried this? Has anyone made the boom mic work with a full face helmet?

Boom mic works fine with a full face, it is just that you can see the boom part go from the headset under the edge of the helmet. Not a big deal but when you pull your helmet off the boom sometimes pulls down

First day out using it, happy so far. Too soon to say anything negative, overall I am happy. I got to 50mph, even with my Micron I was able to call my voicemail and leave myself a message to see how good it came out. It did pretty good. It wasn't perfectly quiet, but you couldn't tell I was on a highway getting passed by a big diesel truck.

Can you pair a Cardo Teamset (main unit) with another rider (on a separate motorcycle) wearing a Q2?????
