I know you have all seen the show, lets play it with my 06 Uly, 21000 miles.

Symptoms: Runs great, idles at 1000 or just a little below. When starting though, I push the start button, get a short initial turn of the motor, a pause, and then the engine turns over. It then starts but dies out. I have to give it a little gas to keep it running for a few seconds before it keeps running. Fuel pump seems to work like it always has. Havent done a TPS adjustment since 10k but all other maintenance done.

Thoughts?

It's naht ah toomah.... (it's hard to type Arnold-speak)

Reset the TPS and AFV, and see how it does. Rule of thumb - do the PM first, then start troubleshooting.

Slow cranking = ground problem. See numerous threads here about improving the grounds on the bike, and bring me a pair of Cuddy's panties.

After you get Cuddy's panties, bring her to me! Check battery voltage, if less than 12.4V after setting for an hour after charge, suspect. Check batt terminals for clean and tightness, as well as grounds.

Low voltage on start up will require revving to get more voltage from charging system.

Reset the TPS and set your idle at 1050 first before doing anything else. I get a hesitation at start, but it's because I left my headlight on and killed the battery twice. The problems might be unrelated.

I had the same symptoms (with my bike) about 18-20 months ago...which was cured after my stator and voltage regulator was replaced. The issue has not come back.

By the way "who wants to be House"? Really, no thanks, I have enough reasons to walk with a limp, and I actually have a beard, and his leather jacket is ugly, and I have a great wife, and he doesn't ride a Buell.....do I need to go on?

Yea but you get to be a douche and get away with it.

"Slutty party girl is fun until she pukes on her shoes -- then she's just a pain in the ass."

"Seizures are fun to watch, boring to diagnose."

"That was awesome. I gotta start pretending to care."

"Hello, sick people and their loved ones! In the interest of saving time and avoiding a lot of boring chitchat later, I'm Doctor Gregory House; you can call me 'Greg.' I'm one of three doctors staffing this clinic this morning. This ray of sunshine is Doctor Lisa Cuddy. Doctor Cuddy runs this whole hospital, so unfortunately she's much too busy to deal with you. I am a board certified diagnostician with a double specialty of infectious disease and nephrology. I am also the only doctor employed at this hospital who is forced to be here against his will. That is true, isn't it? But not to worry, because for most of you, this job could be done by a monkey with a bottle of Motrin. Speaking of which, if you are particularly annoying, you may see me reach for this: this is Vicodin. It's mine! You can't have any. And no, I do not have a pain management problem, I have a pain problem... but who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm too stoned to tell. So, who wants me?"

+++1 on grounds.

House would say do a complete work-up on all grounds. The Uly grounding circuit is very poor in its OEM set-up and is virtually just sitting there waiting to cause a number of issues at any given time.

Hey , if your lucky Dr. Lisa will do the work-up..

Pour 2 bottles of NOS drink in the tank and drill the ECM.

You need to power flush the motor with water before doing the NOS and ECM tricks.
