Question: For those of you that have made the wire switch so both hi/lo beam are on in the hi beam mode - is the connector ground wire sufficient to handle the double load ? @ 110 watts its handling about 9 amps. It looks like about a 16 or 18 ga wire. I pulled the connector apart and noticed what appeared to be a bit of 'blackening' on the ground pin. Just wondering...

The wire is short from the connector to the ground bolt and should pass 10A. easy. I doubted that the connector itself had the long-term current carrying ability and I'm running lower current HID's. I used the leftover connector on the 4 pin headlight plug that's now not being used since the always-on conversion and spliced that into ground on both sides of the connector. With 2 ground connections the bulbs get the current they need. Pack it with silicon dielectric grease when done to keep out moisture and dissipate heat.

There have been SOOoo many riders that have done this mod and no reported incidents (that I've seen anyway). I wouldn't worry about it. I'm running the dual setup with highbeams on at all times and have not experienced any problems.

Ron / Cj - Thanks for the reassurance. I didn't know dielectric grease dissipated heat too - good to know.
