Thanks everyone!

Let me fill in some gaps left by angry rambling.

First, Court; PM sent. Thank you.

With the first failure, I had taken the bike to a different dealer than where I had purchased the bike because my dealer couldn't fit me in to the schedule. All they did was mount a new tire. We picked up the bike (an hour away from home), packed up and left for Jersey the next day. Two days later the bearings let go.

Buell Cust. Service was FANTASTIC!

The bike was repaired (to include a new swing arm, new rotor, and gobs of other stuff) quickly and we never got a bill. Furthermore, we were kept in the loop and had good communication with all involved. I can't say enough about how well we were treated.

All of my work (well, as it relates to the rear wheel / bearings anyway) has been done by H-D / Buell dealers.

Bimmer, you have an excellent memory, that was my thread a few years ago. I'd post the link but I have to go to work, and the IT Nazi's have banned anything that even resembles fun, so I'll see if I can find it after work.

Thanks again to all who have at least grabbed ahold of me...

Tim

Dan, thanks for the very generous offer.

Court, thank you for being you.

I found the original thread that I started after the first melt down but photobucket had cleaned shop on my album. So, I'll post some of the same pics here.

Erik, the owner of Liberty H-D / Buell (sorry, I didn't get his name), Geoff Tate and Mike Stone

Court, Mike Stone and Geoff Tate

Parts;

You think the orange seals are bad...no seal at all is even worse!

Spacer

The rental in Alaska

The replacement (and for some reason, the only pic we took of this bike.....odd)

We could have been given a bicycle as a replacement with views like this...

Thanks again. I have been yanked back to the safety and wrapped with a nice warm Buell blanket and given a stiff glass of cool aid!

Update.....

As it turns out we had to take the car on the trip. The dealer never did call us, stopped on our way home at the end of the trip and they said "oh, it's been ready for awhile". They NEVER called! Thanks for nothing, I'll never be back! I'll take my business elsewhere.

To top it all off, the "new" bearings they installed are the red seals....and they're rusty (like Courts). I'll post a pic of the bearings and some of the trip.

Still had a great time.

Dan I have some info for you.

Tim
