Hello one and all,

We are NORRA(National Off Road Racing Association) founded 1967. Perhaps some of the more seasoned members might remember NORRA from the days of the Original Mexican 1000 Rally, and the very first BAJA 500's Well, After many years of inactivity, NORRA is back.

We are reviving the Mexican 1000 Rally with a new format -

3 Day Special Stage Rally with Liaison Transfers
Vintage Vehicles
Alternative Fuel Technology Vehicles
BUELL ULYSSES CHALLENGE CUP - Limited to 50 riders worldwide, this is intended to be a unique, out of the ordinary, and bold event within the event, While this won't be the fastest class, we hope it will be one of the most talked about, which we think will be great for the entire Buell community. We also think the Uly is a great match for what we are doing.,,, and yes, we know the Uly isn't what most consider a dirtbike, but the course we've laid out is on good dirt with vintage vehicles in mind (and a few vintage drivers) not some bombed out desert version of Victory at Sea. Ours is a drivers course, that will offer plenty of motorsport adventure... and what better way to adventure than with the Ulysses!

The theme of our event is "Honoring The Past, Forging The Future" We are returning to the hotrodding roots of Off Road, but also looking to the future with alternative fuel technologies, and interesting motorsport challenges such as the Ulysses Challenge Cup.

Please see www.norra.com for more event info, and then come join us and grab a piece of motorsport history for yourself.

Here are some names you might recognize that have committed to driving in the event - Parnelli Jones, Larry Roessler (actually back on a bike for this), Bruce Meyers (Original Meyers Manx), Rod Hall, Larry Minor, Rick D. Johnson (2009 SCORE Baja 500 Champion) and many others...

**A Special THANK YOU to Biggs HD/Buell, San Marcos, CA for providing a ULY as the "Official Bike of NORRA" for this kickoff event

**Thank You also to the forum moderators for allowing me to come here and post this information**

I'd love to be a part of the event!

I have one problem my employer (THE US ARMY) has me scheduled to "ride" in another dessert around that time for a year or so. The Army is not very flexible on this kind of thing for vacation but I'll see what I can do!! The family isn't that flexible either and they have more pull in my book. Hate to pass up a good ride suited for my style of riding. The family might have to come along.

Rotorhead,

You and your family have a spot if you can make it!

Thank you for your continuing service, I understand about the desert thing, I was on station for 8 months in Desert Shield/Desert Storm #1 back in my previous life.

I would also like to correspond or even talk to you offline about your bike mods and give you some more details of what we are up to... I sent the photo of your bike to to the GM at Biggs HD/Buell (San Marcos, CA) They're stepping up big time with a Uly and assistance to us.
