Just returned from the annual Minnesota Patriot Guard ride. The proceeds of the fees collected go to the Patriot Guard and programs to help the families of our fallen heros. I joined the ride to stand with our country's military and in honor of my Navy son currently serving his second "vacation" in Iraq. Weather was great, warm but dry so it was good to keep moving. Don't know the final stats but around 2000+ bikes is what I heard. 85% pork, 4 or 5 metric crotch rockets, 6 or so OCC style choppers, a handful of Stars & Vulcans and quite a few Victory's. And most important 4 Buells, Cyclone, CityX, Firebolt and 1 school bus colored Ulysses! (so many comments.."how high IS that seat?) I felt my call-of-duty was to represent BB&D there! The trail head was a bar called "Fatboys" on one of my favorite streets!

You got a headlight out!

Thank your son for his service and +1 to the Patriot Guard, I love what they represent!

I've done some Patriot Guard rides to Arlington National Cemetery recently - they're incredibly moving experiences. Though I felt a little strange when the family of the fallen came up to thank me for my service - I have not been in the military - I get a small understanding of the pride and honor. Unfortunately, the rides in the winter and spring were sparsely attended - the riding weather isn't ideal for most, and the funerals are almost always during the work week. We'll see what the summer is like.
