Getting ready to reset my TPS with ECMSpy and going thru the tuning guide, here are the instructions:
1. First select the Gauges screen and connect to the ECM.
2. Adjust idle adjustment screw until the throttle % drops to 0. Keep winding the screw out a bit further and hold the throttle closed with light clockwise pressure on the throttle grip.
3. Select the Functions tab on ECM Spy and select TPS Reset. (this then prompts you "Reset TPS? Yes/No -- so I click "Yes")
4. Wind in the idle adjust screw until the TPS is set to approx 4.6 degrees or 5.1% This should be approximately correct for tick over.

My question is this (and I ran into this when I did it this winter but want clarification for other Uly owners): after you adjust to zero and you click "TPS reset", adjusting the idle adjustment screw will not change the throttle reading on ECMSpy. It seems like I had to toggle ECMSpy Offline/Online button OR the bike's ignition (I don't remember which) and THEN ECMSpy would read the changing throttle position and I could get it correct.

Am I missing something. The instructions say nothing about having to toggle ECMSpy off/on or the bike.

I have experienced the same thing a few times. When it does it I just hit reset TPS again just to make sure that it took. There should be a message at the bottom the ECMSpy screen that states the reset was successful.

I had the same thing happen. After the TPS reset, it says to toggle the ignition off/on. After that, I just selected the online button and it started reading everything again.

"After the TPS reset, it says to toggle the ignition off/on."

Where did/does it say that? That's what I think I did when I reset before but I didn't see that during the process or in the instructions.

I just went to the ECM Spy page and it says that it is no longer available for download. Does this mean that the product is no longer free or is there now some place to purchase it? Really don't want to have to go to the stealer for TPS resets when I'm pretty sure I can evade them for pretty much everything else.

ECMspy is no longer available. If you search the web you can find someone else that might be sharing it, but those links wont last long. If not, you can buy a VDSTS to do the TPS reset too.

After I reset the TPS, a prompt popped up saying to toggle the ignition off, then on...so I did. The bike still runs, so I assume it worked.

Thanks Tootal I just registered on the board. Been doing some reading there and looks like some real tuners there.
