Bruce - good eye.

No, I did not. I removed it to gain better access to the pipes when I was wrapping them and then found the tolerance too tight to get the scoop back on without shredding or disfiguring the wrap. Who would have thought?

Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to take another look at it now that the wrap has "burned" onto the pipe. Maybe do a little modification to the scoop to reinstall it.

Tginnh, which width/length header wrap did you get from DEI?

Monster - I got the 1" 15' roll which was insufficient.
I had to purchase another 15' roll and still came up short.
Get the 1" 50' roll.
You'll have some left over and it's cheaper than buying two 15' rolls.

if yu go to the harley forum, the touring bikes are crying the blues about roasted thighs... the 09s are supposed to be better....so, its just not a buell issue..

on the harleys, your thigh isnt pressed against the pipes so much, due to the lower seat height... my roadking is still a thigh roaster..

i ride the beemer, if im going to be lugging in traffic, to avoid the heat..

Tuning will help with the heat.

putting the screamin beagle race tuner on the harley did help a bit, but hot is hot... when you have an 08 or 09 buell, you are out of luck, as no tuning is available...

ive read on this forum of a mystical place where the 08s are tuned, but ive never seen it.. ive called American Sport Bike and when they cant tune them, that speaks volumes..
