Hmmm, not good news.
Thinking of buying a new Uly in sept/oct depending on 2010 specs, but who wants a new bike with no support.

There was some earlier discussion here about the dealer arrangements changing in Australia and New Zealand. I think I'd take what that dealer says with a large grain of salt.

Hopefully Court knows something and will chime in here.

I may be wrong but from what I understand is that since H/D aquired MV Agusta, Buell, Cagiva and MV's will be sold from the one dealership. If it is true I'm all for it. Buell is a thorn in most H/D dealerships sides!

Bring it on! : )

"Buell is a thorn in most H/D dealerships sides!"

And now add MV and Cagiva to water down already less then impressive service for Buells at HD dealerships.

Its a shame the XB12X and other models dont meet our regulations in Australia/NZ otherwise theyd sell more units imo.

Buell's will be taken out of the H/D dealerships and in a combined Cagiva, MV and Buell dealership. Better suited to the brand I think. You go into a H/D shop and ask where the Buell's are and they say whats a Buell!

The dealer that sold me my Uly, whose service dept screwed up every time they took a wrench to my bike, last year took on selling Benelli! They tried to get me to trade in my Buell and get on one of those butt-ugly things!

I can only imagine the head scratching going on in the service dept when some poor soul brought his Tre in for service...

Hanginout,it's nothing to do with emmissions mate,it's just HD Aus not wanting to push Buell's barrow, they are more interested in peddling chrome to the idiots that know nothing about bikes, you know the one's riding the HD's,I'm with Jodei on this one, bring on the new dealerships.

Aussiexbox, I didnt mention anything about emissions. From the Buell dealers ive contacted here in Oz, the X doesnt meet some ADR requirements and from memory it was something to do with lights which is easily adapted but for Buells lack of enthusiasm to supply us with all models. Its just a pitty the X was axed after 2007.

And I guess i must be one of those "idiots" you talk of. In about 12 weeks i will pulling the trigger on either a new FXDF or new Uly. Seeing this tread has made that chrome *glint* just that little bit extra.
hehe

I'm not too sure of that THORN comment. Harley dealers are not held a gun point to carry Buells. If that were the case then all HD dealers would carry Buells but we all know that is not the case. Probably the best HD/Buell dealers are the ones that have Buell riding mechanics. That should be what a Buell owner should ask if he is having work done by any dealer, whether or not the guy that is to work on his bike owns a Buell. If that mechanic doesn't ride one then how in the heck can you expect him to be able to do a credible job fixing yours?? And then even when they do ride Buells, you are still putting your bike into the hands of someone that just wants to do your bike and then on to the next one. The last time I had my bike in for a warranty job I got the bike back and then found out later that screws weren't tightened, and all the plastic washers on the front fairing were not there anymore. And these mechanics ride Buells to their job. Those maybe little nit picks but I have a long memory and it pissed me off to think that they thought I wouldn't notice.

Well the dumb shit mechanic here thought that a Buell must have a left side drive so fitted my tire around the wrong way!

need I say more.......

I'd never own a Harley over my Buell's!
I rode a sportster for 20k's and could not wait to get off the under powered and under suspendered heap!

In all fairness, the 1125's are left drive. Easy mistake. Also, there is pictures of the new 1125R pace bike with the rear tire on backwards.

All good Hanginout, but once again like Jodie,I rode a HD for a day at Coffs, and could not wait to get back on my Uly,and I'll buy another no matter who has them for sale or what dealer,I believe we will see change for the better if they move away from HD dealerships, and go to some one who wants to sell & support them.
I would say that HD only wanted a few models here,I had heard that the "XT" with panniers on was to wide for Homologation, hence the reason we don't get them sold here like the states fully kitted.

Must be a freelance Buell mechanic here
in Dallas. He's only at my dealer two days
a week. Must travel around between dealers!
But, he did a great job replacing my swingarm.
