It's a Ford Pearl Black colour with orange metalflake in it that can only be seen in sunlight, with Barricade Orange stripes and Gold pinstripes. I love it!!!

Sprintex, it's all paint under lacquer and it was professionally done by a local paint shop here.

It started as a second-hand Black airbox cover and mudguard from a Firebolt and my old spare Barricade Orange front cowling. I'm really happy with it!!!

I've put a Zero Gravity touring screen with a dark tint on it too, but I wanted to get a few pics of it without the screen.

Hangetsu, yeah, a real horny, hairy, muscle bike paint scheme!!!

I always felt the Buell motor was the closest thing to an automobile V8!!!

The notable thing is that racing stripes themselves are fast. I have always been a fan of the British wide double racing stripes. The black you used will slow an orange Uly down a bit, but being a metallic black minimizes that slowing affect. So overall, since you had to go black, I would call it about even on the speed, if there is actually a gain it would be from the stripes themselves.

I put a fair amount of additional Barricade Orange on my Uly and some red double stripes. But I had to make the stripes short and subtle so that it didn't end up too fast. There must be balance in the universe. It was proven by the S.C. Police officer driving the white Ford pickup, when he pulled over Wolfridgerider and I on the way to Daytona, doing 90 mph in a 65 zone. We got off because my stripes were short and not over done.

Yuck? That is a sweet ride!

I got told by the sales person that you can't paint the plastic parts, then the service guy that was standing there corrected him and tried to explain to me how to paint it. I still have no idea what he was talking about, LOL.

Etenully wrote "British wide double racing stripes"

My favorite too, but the are VERY American, NOT British and are also known as Cunningham stripes

Therefore very appropriate on a Buell

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racing_stripe

In fact...this is the color scheme I will be pursuing for my Buell this winter...

Etennuly, you are correct about balance, it is very important in life and paintjobs to achieve balance. In your case, a little red goes a long way to make this possible.

Here is my source of inspiration with it's creator, a truly great American automotive engineer!!

You guys are right! The british racing stripe I was thinking of was a single wide one, off set to one side, with a small single stripe running beside it.

I guess it was Carol Shelby who laid out the wide, centered, double stripe. So many great looking racing stripe jobs from back in the late fifties and sixties.

By the way, my bike has two more of the short double angled stripes. One on the lower right chin faring, the other on the top case cover. Set up so that you really don't see more than one of them at a time.

Thanks. The weird thing is it doesn't look custom. It looks rather factory, which is the look I was after.

Yours looks custom.....and well done at that.
