Looks like they ruined the Ulysses with a Rotax engine.
What a waste.
I wonder what else they changed.

Where did you find this? I was going to read more and link to a friend of mine that was going to wait til next year to buy a Uly... wonder if this would have an effect on his considerations?

Also wouldn't the water cooled engine be a plus not a negative?

Definitely do not like the look of the huge scoops, eww.

Very nice Photoshop- but the belt drive is on the wrong side for a Rotax. Who knows though, maybe they do have something in the works like that.

Actually there is a belt on both sides to handle the extra power.

How about a tighter toleranced watercooled pushrod engine. Still no valve maintenance.

The rotax XT would be the only reason I would trade my tractor engine XT.

I'm pretty sure if they went with this option, we would see the 8 piston ZTL's. Not the 6.

Being a huge proponent of forward thinking I would still stay with the pushrods. Buell would have to put some kind of traction control device on the bike to limit the power off road. I really dont want the extra crap associated with the rotax. The old adage goes something like this "It is easy to make something complicated that works well, it is much more difficult to make something simple do the same.

I'm in for an XB12XD-----as is in diesel! Either a v-twin, parallel twin or inline triple would be compact enough. It could be turbo'd and intercooled with one of the modern compact turbos out there. It would make monstrous torque and probably get 85 plus mpg. And with the right kind of injection setup, it could run on Diesel 1 or 2, Kerosene, Biodiesel, Jet-A, Jet-A1, or JP-8.

It would be nice to have the bigger fuel capacity, but not so nice to have to drop the Helicon motor to change the spark plugs.....

The spark plug interval is the same as the valve adjustment interval, so its killing 2 birds with one stone.

Ahhhh....so, so. That's too cobby looking. Something more like the M1030 or the MD670F street version but with belt drive, plenty of storage, etc.. You know like a Uly. Buell has just the mindset to do something like this and make it look and run right.
