The local dealer (Brandon Harley) has an '09 Uly XT. It is used w/ 2700 miles. They were asking $10,400 for it + fees, tax, tag. I rode it and noticed the vibration (expected) but everything else felt goood. I found out they had it because the gentleman that purchases it brought it back because he could smell fuel at idle and the dealer couldn't find anything wrong. I guess he pitched a fit so they put him on another 2009 to make him happy. I couldn't pull the trigger at the time because I'm making final payments on my wedding Wednesday. I told them this and the price dropped to $9900 OTD. Now we all know the saying about something being to good to be true. Any concerns with the fuel smell or the rapidly dropping price?

Heck of a price, but I'd be leary due to the circumstances, too.

Of course my wife sometimes says that my '07 smells of fuel after I park it in the garage, but I've never smelled any.

If the PO overfilled the tank it would puke out of the overflow and that would give a gas smell...Go for it

Does that come with a 2 year warranty in writing?

$9900 OTD sounds like a pretty good deal for that bike. I would grab it if the Uly is what you want.

As for the fuel smell. it could be an overfilled tank. I found out the hard way. I didnt know the fill level was the top of the INNER tank. I filled it almost to the top of the airbox cover. Then I parked it in the hot sun and went to lunch.

When I got back and started it up the gas came out the overflow like I had turned on a fire hose. oops. I dont do that anymore and have no more troubles.

As said already take it and enjoy it as long as it has a 2yr warranty for you not a remainder of factory warranty. Have fun and the wifey will love the back seat.

Well is she worth it? $9900 OTD seems a little high for wedding, mine only cost $75.50 OTD but she didn't come with a factory warranty but I have enjoyed the ride... Like was said above, if it has the warranty and it is what you want, pull the trigger and enjoy the ride.
