Well folks, I have been lurking for awhile. Hemming and hawing over buying a Uly. Finally pulled the trigger and bought a bike from another list member last Friday. Bought the bike Friday morning, rode it up to Sweetwater, TN the same day. Spend Saturday riding with the missus two up on the Dragon, Hwy 28 to Franklin, Wayah rd and the Cherohala Skyway. Had a blast. Even riding back all day in the rain today I had a grin on my face. Yankee Dog

welcome to the Board, and congrats, on the Uly. I've got a problem with my 08 XT, and you will probably have the same, The rides just don't seem long enough. Once you get on, the time flys by! I hope you and the missus, have a lot of fun miles... enjoy. |

That IS a great photo...it's still kind of weird to see XT photos on this site - they're still kind of new. More! More! Welcome aboard! |

Hi! You're belly-pan/exhaust bolts seem to be missing! |

Strada - Good catch. thanks. When I got home I checked the bolts and sure enough they were missing. Along with one on the side and two others were loose. I am lucky the pan didnt fall off as I was riding down the road. A little locktite and hopefull all is well. I will stop at the dealer today and get replacements for the those missing. Whet over the rest of the bike. Nothing out of order. I suspect the pan bolts were not locktited after the 1000 mile service. yankee Dog |

Don't over do the lock-tite! It will need to be removable for maintenance work. I just tighten mine once and a while. If you didn't know it, they are a torx 27. Under the seat, your tool kit has one(ala allen style), but having a socket type with a 1/4 ratchet and a 3" extension can't be beat. Great looking bike. Good to see you had fun in East Tennessee. |

I never locktite anything and everything seems to stay together for me. |

I have a Ural besides my Uly. I have learned to loctite everything. yeah, I noticed the torx. Luckily the BMW I sold to buy the Uly had some of those so I already had a torx socket. Yankee Dog |
