Do you really need that puller??

Going to try and remove it and check for chafed wires. And make sure that low fuel light connector is not loose since it keeps coming on.

No, but you do need a bolt threaded in the back side that you can prey/pull against. I forget exactly how I did mine, but I remember thinking that a puller would have been easier...but I still got the job done without the puller.

Just make sure that you have a couple new O-rings before you start.

you dont even need a bolt threaded into the pump. Just take 2 thin flat-blade screwdrivers (one on each side of the pump) and then pry it out that way. Its only held in there from the pressure of two o-rings and comes out very easily. I have had mine out 3 times now.

Good luck on finding the o-rings in stock. If you dont tear them pulling them out, put some grease on them and reuse them.

I'll be doing mine soon too. Reserve light is coming on intermittently. So annoying.

I tried calling you Max. You gave me your number a couple of years ago. I left you message concerning ties and gas if they would get soft or break. We're going with some tiegon tubing and wedging it in the slot. I guess I am going togo with that method. I need to get this done today. If you get a minutes can you call my cell back?

Of course the chafed wires. I think there should be a recall on this issue.

We went with the tubing.

Thanks for the help guys. It did make it easier except if I would of followed the manual and drained the tank first. Lol

Ran it home and the pump sounds much better and the light never came on.

Just another thought if you're running the race can. The swing arm drops just enough to get the pump out since it hit the can and cant lower like it should. But you can still get the pump out with a twist as you take it out. Another observation, it runs much better!
Got to 90 here today and it does start better and just plain runs like it once did. Thought I would pass that on.
