I just picked up my 08 xt after it was in the shop for 2 weeks to replace failed rear bearings at 2100 miles. they replaced the bearings with the black ones. when the bearing went it caused the wheel to shift to the right and apparently ruined the brake pads and rotor as well so they replaced all under warranty. of course, even though it is an 08 that i bought just last nov, the service manager wouldn't take my word for it and had to check on the computer for about 5 mins that it was less than 2 years old. overall i am pleased because the weather was nice and i got a great day of riding in. the only thing that i was displeased with was that I asked on the phone twice if it would all be covered under warranty (an obvious yes to me) and they would not give me an answer until the day i picked it up. I think the dealers and service depts would not be so hated if they would worry less about covering their butts all the time. | ||

It is not always a simple yes or no. If they find damage or negligence that was caused by you, they might not honor the warranty. | ||

+1 on Froggys comment. The dealer has to go back and forth with HD and Buell to get answers on these things and in many cases its not a clear cut yes or no. | ||

I don't think he was trying to figure out if the bike was still under warranty. Correct me if I am wrong, but all XT's were a 2008 and half, so all XT's would be less than one year old. I think he was trying to figure out if it was covered by what warranty you do have. | ||

Carvbuell, the bottom line is that it was covered under warranty and taken care of! Now just do your part and enjoy the ride! | ||
