Does anyone know what pipe would be similar to the race pipe. I don't want anything too loud and I don't want to void the warranty.

The race pipe is the quietest non stock pipe that I have heard. Any non stock pipe has potential to void your warranty.

If the added breathing from the exhaust can be traced as the cause for your failure (i.e. burned valve / lean condition), your warranty could be void. If you take the time to get it tuned right, or run a race ECM (available for '07 and earlier bikes), you should be just fine.

I run a Drummer on mine, and it is a little boomier than a race can was. Jardine's are LOUD; SpecialOPS are about comparable to the Drummer. There are others out there, but these are the 3 most popular...nice thing about the Drummer and SpecialOPS is (are?), they're modified stock mufflers so you keep your jack points.

A note about warranties. It is illegal for a manufacturer to void a warranty because you installed aftermarket parts, unless those parts caused the problem. See here for the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

That doesn't mean a dealer won't do it, but if they do, they are just looking for a reason to screw you over, in which case, you have larger issues to solve.

I have a good dealer. They have never given me problems about stuff I install on the bike. If you're concerned that yours might, I would find the person at the dealership who makes those decisions, and talk to them about it. Just having that conversation makes you less of a faceless name, and will go a long way toward getting good service from them.

I just wish that Buell would allow the original supplier to keep making the race pipe and sell them. Best thing I did with my 06 Uly was the race kit.

I agree with Dennis 100%, same bike, same kit.

Although, now, thanks to another badwebber I have a Drummer SS. Not much louder, like Ratbuell says a bit more boom and presence.
