Having spent a while finalising our new Tail Tidy, Margaret and I thought it should have a new name.

If anyone can offer an improvement on Margaret's 'The Butt Buncher' I'd appreciate your suggestions!

Great suggestions, keep 'em coming.
Margaret's thought of about 40 today over a glass of wine - we've been peeing ourselves laughing!
Another of her favourites are Rump Reducer; Booty Beauty; Rump Robber...........

Iain, that looks very nice
Hopefully my bike gets back soon from wherever it is now. I've also got my eye on the handlebar weights. When possible I'll order the tidy tail and the weights.

Smart Arse is good, as are the other suggestions, thanks.
Sure there are loads to come!
Galloper, hope to have the first batch in about a week or 2.

iain, bracket is working great along with the windscreen. although for me, i think the windscreen could be a little wider for me though. have you ever thought about some type of cruise control that wouldn't interfere with the heated handgrips or hand guards. how are the cruising pegs working out so far.

Hi, Neil, I think you have the Medium screen which about the same size as the Buell touring part. The large screen is wider as well as taller.
Not looked into a cruise-control kit yet (not enough days in the week to look into all my ideas I get!) but the Cruiser-Peg Kits are proving quite popular!
Anyway, any ideas for a new name for the Tail Tidy?

Why not just go with Fender Eliminator? It's simple and to the point. Why give it a nickname?

Any heads-up on a price range yet? I would surely be interested if it wasn't going to cost an exorbitant amount like the Rchrysler box version.

I'm gonna put a huge rubber mudflap (mind out of the gutter boys) on mine as soon as I get some of those chrome trucker girls small enough to fit on it. I'll probably sandblast the chrome off before mounting the girls (mind out of the gutter again boys). Pics when I'm done.

Just thought a Nickname would be more fun and memorable!
Anyway, cost is likely to be around the £60($90) mark with the powder coating and Stainless Steel fasteners.
It will have provision for the standard light assembly or an aftermarket LED type, plus provision to mount the standard reflector bracket.
The two indicator positions (for using with/without panniers) can be used without disconnecting any wires, so quite pleased with that feature as well.
For those who like to off-road, then it will also carry our Mudguard/Mudflap.
It looks bl00dy fantastic even if I do say so myself!
Look even better with one of those tiny plates you guys have in the States!

Bloody isn't a curse here in the States : )

You say it will work fine with the bags? Thats good to hear, as it was a deal breaker for me on other tails.

One last thing, whats involved with the seat lock? Where did it go?

Hi, Froggy,
yep, works fine with the bags and rear carrier (both mine or Buell's)
I could have just pushed the indicators inwards more but that would compromise the safety aspect as the bags would mask them. The lower position puts them in the bag cut-outs and in full view.
The seat lock is underneath (out of sight!).
I'm still working on a plastic/rubber cover in case anyone really wants one but the key-slot has it's own shutter and there are no electrical connections to worry about so most conditions don't demand extra protection.
having said that, I will do something and will be retro-fit - I didn't want to delay getting the Smart-Arse out there!

Strada, that was my other question, the smaller plate size for us folks here in the states. Looking forward to your release date! Keep us posted!

The total plate mounting area is 185mm wide x 140mm high so the US size plate will fit on it perfectly, I think - not forgetting that part of that may be needed for the light assembly if desired.

If you want to build your own, here's a template I came up with. I was lucky enough to have a buddy who runs a shop and has access to a water jet & press break, so I got a little silly with the design (hence, the Pegasus). Just print out the attached PDF at full scale, glue it to a piece of stock, and cut/drill on the solid lines and bend on the dashed lines, you're all set. I used a length of weather stripping to sealed good & tight against the curved undertail on my Uly.

PM me if you want the CAD file.

Guys, first batch of parts now available so please email me if interested before they go on the website.
Must admit, they do look good in Satin Powder Coat!

Yesterday I was able to pick up my bike. This morning I got to install the tidy tail.

One comment Strada, enclose with the set the proper allen key. Me being european, have all metric and I could't find my non-metric as I have just moved.

All did install with a bit of fidling but no big deal. Looks are great : )
