If the low fuel light occasionally comes on shortly after filling the tank, does that mean that a sensor in the tank is failing, or is it possible that the wires on the fuel pump are wearing through and shorting it out?

This is on my '06 Uly with 36,000+ miles.

It first did it on the way to Daytona in early March. Hasn't done it since until today. It runs fine and the fuel pump works per normal.

My 06 Ulysses did it last week.
The bike had been sat for a week or so with low fuel and when I filled it up, it came on and off for the next 15-20 miles.
Now it is behaving properly.

Is the display resetting to the fuel clock also?

Nope. Nothing else amiss.

Just went out on it. Like before, about two miles out it went off.

No big deal, I'm wondering if I need to pull the fuel pump and have a look at the wires that can chafe.

I figured that would be the best place to look. It is an '06 with 36000 miles, so it is time to have a look in there anyway. Thanks!
