Just thought I'd post up the opposite heading for those who like their glass half-full !

I recently did a rear tire change, and didn't like the feel of the bearings. Not BAD, but exactly how they felt last year when I told myself to keep an eye on them. My first rear bearings went out at 12,000 miles, while in Georgia heading to NC before Easter LAST year. Since I was planning the same trip this year, but with 29,000 miles on the clock, I decided to get the newest black seal bearings put in BEFORE they tried to ruin another trip.
I called Gainesville HD/Buell in Florida, and had Paul in parts put aside a set of the new bearings (in stock), and set up an appointment for me Thursday at 9 am. Gainesville is 3.5 hours north of me, but they are very conveniently located right off I-75, and on my way to NC.
I left at 5:15 am, and pulled in at 8:45 am as they were opening. Bearings were done at no cost in less than 2 hours, and I was back on my way north with a lot more piece of mind.
And an XR1200 brochure to look at, since they had 5 of them there (2 sold)

Glad to hear!

I have only put about 3000 miles on my new bearings but they definitely seem to be an improvement. Who knows it may just be a false sense of security but whatever it is, the black looks better anyway

Great idea for a thread, Florida.

After calling my dealer(Cowboy HD/B in Austin) to confirm a rear Sync in stock, I made an appointment for the install. Upon arrival, I was dismayed to find out that while the computer showed 2 in house, they were, in fact, out. Sonofa...

To make amends, one of the service workers drove immediately across town, in rush hour traffic, to secure a tire from a competing dealer. I was given the first appointment the following day, as well as a 10% discount on the transaction.

Not the greatest story I have about my dealer, just the most recent. They rock.

My dealer also rocks!! Harley Davidson Buell of Fort Myers, {also FL.coing key dink I think not} they have gone above and beyond to make my experiance a good one.
They even beat every other shop in town on their tire prices! They don't even care that won't let them install it since I'm so darn thrifty...er cheap as the case may be.

I fired my bike up this spring around mid March. Right away i new i fouled a plug - front cylinder. I limped it into the local HD dealer and pulled right in with those sliding doors. Told them about the plug and also showed them that i busted the oil pressure sensor while changing my oil and they replaced that. They also replaced my exhaust valve actuator out of the blue...all i paid for was a new rear tire and install. Plus the service was relatively fast and hastleless. I got 4K on my 08 i bought last march and i've been in for the clutch bracket recall and other issues and always they check for epromm updates. There is only one Buell mechanic, but he always gets my bike. VERY GOOD DEALER EXPERIENCE-S

I posted this on the XB board Thursday in a thread complaining about dealers.....

Just wanted to share this......as it reflects on the difference in dealers.

I went for a ride today. The bike was running really rough when it started. I figured well hell it's cold out just ride it to warm it up. NOPE! Just went to the corner and back and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure I'm running on one cylinder. Front exhaust is cold to the touch. Called my dealer and we agreed I shouldn't try to ride it the 25 or so miles to the dealer. I was asked if I had a way to get it down there and I explained I have a big trailer but it would be tight getting it into the dealership. So the dealer offers to come pick it up. I asked how much that will cost .........NOTHING.....zero ....zip....nada

and get this he was apologetic that they would not be able to pick it up until tomorrow or Monday at the latest because they are so busy.

Thats customer service!!

Fox Harley did pick the bike up Friday and told me if they could get it fixed Friday they would. They also warned me they were booked solid for Saturday.....so if it didn't get finished Friday it would be Monday (assuming they have any required parts).

They also offered to drop it back off when it's finished.
