On the BUZZZ subject thread there is the framework of a great catalog for anecdotes and misadventures that are entertaining in the least, and hilarious at their best. If someone has a better subject title I'd be ammenable - no pride of authorship in play here, Just wanted to get something going. Read the BUZZZ & you'll get the idea. So lets hear (read) the stories. Your Buellers afterall - we got misfit reputations to protect... and this is much better than any fiction. j

That is what March Badness is about! Try getting to Buelltoberfest, it too fits the bill!

The only difference is, it is real.

Well I started a fire in the fireplace and got a cold frosty one so here it goes:

A friend of mine and I decide to ride up to Newfoundland from St. Louis. We have a great ride as usual and are on our way up to La anx aus meadows. Not sure about the spelling but it sounds like that from what I remember. As we're riding along we see a car on the side of the road with the hood up and steam rolling out from underneath. We pulled over and two little girls run up to us and said,"Mister, can you fix our car?" I grabbed the tool bag and walked over and Mom came up and said, "Me ot light came on and I pulled it over." H's are silent on that side of the island. I said I would check it out. Well the thermostat was stuck so I pulled it out and put the housing back on. I told her we would need some water but we were in the middle of nowhere. I did see a sign for an airport 20 miles back and she agreed there was one and she had an emergency water bag. She jumped on the back of my buddies Harley, which he enjoyed since she had some really big, uh, a really nice sweater. They took off to get water while I baby sat the six and nine year olds. I finished the car up and kept the girls out of the road. After forty`five minutes they returned only one bag was not enough so they made a second trip. While they were gone some Goldwing riders came by but only waved. On the return of the second bag of water we finished filling up the radiator. Upon closing the hood the girls gave us a hug and I sent them to the nearest town to get the car properly fixed. We took off down the road in total amazement. If this were America, Mom would have jumped in the car locked the doors and called the police! Not in Newfy. The most friendly, and trusting people I have ever met!

See! - thats a story that proves chivalry is not dead, but alive and well in the 21st century. Amazing, since most of the Bikers I know are still somewhere in the 12th...well maybe 13th. So...do you recall what was the sweater made of ? Cashmere ? You're a good man Greg. Keep that fire goin.

Here's my comment from my Face Book page....

Sunday had a tire blowout on my 5th wheel trailer...on the interstate (passenger side at least), Monday jack-knifed trailer thanks to a snow drift and a 50 mph cross wind(no damage...except maybe to my shorts), Wednesday trailer stuck in driveway (did I mention it's 40 feet and 16000 pounds). Tomorrow I get my stitches out. So how's your week going........

my poor Uly had to endure all that in the back of my toy hauler

Doesnt sound like a 'vacation'...but was an adventure. Stitches ?? Was that in any way connected to the short damage ?

Here's a fresh one - just did it 5 minutes ago in the garage. I just finished adding braces to my palmer-bracket setup and was sitting on the bike to see if there were any obstructions since I had to move around all the other cr*p I have attached to my handlebars.

If you've done this, I bet you can figure out what happened next...

Yep, forgot I raised the kickstand and went to hop off the bike and down she went. D*mn, if that don't make you feel like a dumb*ss.

btw - One of the many facets that drew me to the Uly was the comparative light weight of the bike. Well, it felt like a beached whale trying to right it. Failed the first attempt, but got it the second time.

Worst thing about the whole mishap - the garage door was up.

No damage done to the bike. Just another bruise to my tattered ego...

LOL.

This just happened and I had tears rolling down my cheeks. My 11 yr old son and I were out for a nice ride in town. On our way home I pulled up to a stop light and I hear "ha ha HA CHOO!!" silence then "YUCK!". Inside of his helmet and visor covered in spit and snot. Has happened to me but not quite the eruption he had.

ok , i got 1 , when i was home on r&r leave from iraq last september i had my brand new 2008 uly siting in my garage , now ive had a few extremly strong running bikes , from a 1997 yamaha v-max 1200cc and a 1984 honda magna v-65 1100, these were no begginers bikes by no means so upon departure of the drive way, the first thing i do is grab a great big handfull in first , well the uly thought it would be funny to try to sling me off within the first 30 seconds of being on it , well after choping back to half throttle and geting the front tire back down to 45 degrees from 90 was the easy part , so what do i do? slam 2nd naturally, so up and almost over again , same ol wash rinse repeat procedure as before , chop throttle and bring her back down with the front wheel hitting the road with a pleasing chirp! ever since i get this great big sh$% eating grin on my face every time i think about it, i was so impressed with its wheelie pron attitude , its been pure joy since , man i love this bike!}
