Two days before I'm supposed to depart on my Spring Break road trip and what happens - 12 degree temps. and 19" of snow! This was to be my first real trip on the Uly - my chance to get it just past it's 5K service before the 3000 miller in June. I'm leaving Sunday morning in any event for the Santa Fe area in NM and if I have my druthers, I'd prefer it to be on two wheels.

I'll have to pray to the sun gods for a quick melt and at least 5 consecutive days of sunshine.

The snow melts pretty quickly in NM. I'll bet you'll have some good riding.

Alex, it is already melting down South. We still have some drifts in the yard but the road is clear, save the water that will freeze overnight. Sunday will be close to 60 degrees and I expect it all to be gone by then.

What route are you taking to go to Santa Fe? The reason I ask is maybe I can ride a few miles with you if you don't mind. If you take the interstate I can meet you at exit 122 or 128 and at least ride down to Pueblo or your next gas stop with you.

Alex, I got out for a bit today. There is a lot of sand on the road and some snow on the side roads but it should be gone today. The Peak has a lot of snow, needless to say I did not get into the mountains.

Hey Frank,

I wish I had your number. It's 12:20 AM Sunday right now and this is the first time I've checked BW in a few days. If you get this message in time, Please give me a call. I'll PM you and give you my phone number. It would be great to have some company on the road for a spell. We will be leaving Boulder this (Sunday) morning at around 8:00. On the way down I don't plan on taking any interesting roads though (unless you have any suggestions that won't add too much time to the trip down.) I was planning on B-lining to Santa Fe to get checked into the hotel relatively early. The return trip is when I was planning on taking the slow scenic route. I can be flexible though. The only thing I want to avoid is arriving in Santa Fe after dark.
Call me in the morning and we can arrange a time to meet up.
Cheers.
A-

Alex, I sent you an email. I will be close to home today because Lynn is not feeling well. We will have plenty of time to ride this summer, keep checking the CBR section.

Jeff, check the for sale section for those black plastics you are looking for. Also, check out the Colorado Buell Rider section under the Storm Fronts.

I made the mistake of going off road yesterday and the ground is very much wet I almost took a dump off of Old Pueblo Road by the train bridge.

It reminded me of that trip to Sturgis were you John and I camped out outside the chip next to that wash out. When was that? 1993 or 1994?

I don't remember the year but I sure remember meeting you on the two lane with your Sporty all covered in mud from North Dakota. That was a good road trip.
