There is a really nice black Uly on Ebay right now with a current bid of $4900. A dealer (Zylstra HD 630-584-8000 and ask for Jim Kopp) is selling it in St. Charles, Ill. The pictures make the bike look really sweet. Anyone interested in a low mileage (5040) 2007 Uly should look at this one.

Based on my ONE dealing with Zylstra in Ill. I would not buy a crumby bottle of oil from them. Super expensive bikes, got the run around from them on trying to purchase a year old new bike (price up and then down then up). While getting jerked around by them over the phone for a bike price, I called Suburban Motors in Theinsville, WI. and got the same bike for $2000 less.........they probably have a ten thousand dollar reserve on that E-Bay Uly.

I purchased my 08 xt from zylstra last november. They have plenty of Buells for sale but I did not see too much interest or knowledge from the sales staff as a whole. The salesman I worked with helped track down the black model I was looking for and they competed for price with Suburban motors. I purchased from zylstra as it is local and if i have an issue i don't want to drive 3 hrs. I traded in an 03 lightning and hang around badweb so I really am not going to be relying on them for anything but warranty issues. And that is the key, if you are going to do most maintenance and minor repairs, I don't think buying from them will be a problem.

As a side note, I was back at the dealership picking up the bags for the sidecases, I heard a salesman tell a guy that a Firebolt has the new liquid cooled engine. I was waiting for the parts guy to return so didn't want to leave the counter but I would love to see all HD dealers have a buell specialist not just whichever salesman is not busy.

Before I began negotiations with the FT one, I called Zylstra about that same bike, plus a number of others that they'd had on eBay. Here's the skinny...

I shot them an offer on the aforementioned Uly and the guy I spoke with (the closest to a knowledgeable Buell guy on their staff) all but straight-out told me that 7k was as low as they were willing to go. That was about five weeks ago, but I doubt little has changed. There's a black 07 at their Elk River, MN dealership that I took a look at in person a year ago this April--they've had that one on eBay for at least as long and the highest I've seen it go was mid 6k, but that didn't meet their reserve.

'Tis a shame, as there was a time not too many years ago when the Elk River shop had some true-blue guys selling and working on the Buells; this is not the case anymore.

FWIW, I was the last 'high-bidder' on that bike, but was below reserve at $5625.

Good luck.

Zylstra had a sentence at the bottom of their ad saying to call for the bottom line, Well I sent them a e-mail (didn't want to waste my dime) They e-mailed back to "Call" them, again I e-mailed them, again they said "Call". My last e-mail I asked if they were afraid to put down their bottom line on paper. Never heard back from them. I don't even bother with "Call for price" ads, if you cant be upfront with your price, Don't worry about me calling.

Just talked with Devon at Big Sky in Montana and he has factory demo 08's coming in tomorrow. $7499.00 according to him and the ad in Cycle Trader. Put a deposit on the black one he has coming in, should know for sure tomorrow when the truck makes it through the snow storm up north.
