I'll have around $10K to spend for a new Uly in the next 30/60 days. Checking Cycle Trader/Craigslist it looks like I'll have some options. I'd prefer something new, or with a warrenty. What are you owners thoughts on the following?

Leftover '06: I believe a few of these are still around. What's a fair price considering it's a 3 year old bike?

Leftover '07: What were the changes from the '06 and what is one worth?

Leftover '08: What were the changes from '07? Can I get a leftover XT for under $10K?

Can you direct me to any bargains you know of?

Thanks!!

I'll leave the price advice up to someone else. Model info:

07 has dual-rate front fork springs and a slightly improved oil pump over 06. Nothing at all wrong with an 06 if you find a deal.

08 has completely new oiling system, new crankshaft (bigger crank pin), slightly higher redline, new FI system (TPS resets not required), and offset forks which allow a much tighter turning circle (X only, not XT).

Don't know how far you're willing to travel, but...

Donahue in Brainerd, MN, has a 'new' demo 07 Uly in black. They'll come down' to around $8500, still untitled so comes with a full warranty.

Harley Davidson Sport Center in Duluth, MN, has a very nice '08 that is used, but just barely with only 2500 miles. It's a red XT, basically brand new with warranty until Summer 2010. Sticker is $9500, but I'm pretty sure they'll come down considerably. It was a retirement bike, if I remember correctly...

Good luck!
