Yo, did I see you? Rolling south on Maryland Route 27 into Damascus on a relatively slower-than-a-black Barricade Orange Uly at about 2:30pm today, Sunday 3/9/09? Wearing a gray T-shirt? Really? I was on my black Harley today.

I saw a red Lightning in Mt. Airy, MD too. Two Buells in one day is a personal record for me! Of course, with temps in the low 70s, everyone and his brother and sister were out today. Drop the temps into the 60s, and I'd have the roads to myself. The DC/MD/VA area is mostly a fair-weather riding bunch, which drives me up the wall. Seriously, I haven't seen so many stretched-out "custom" choppers since "American Chopper" was on the Discovery Channel.

Get some good gear and get out there people!

I rode some yesterday, way up to 35 degrees.
It was great to get the bike out,no posers out when it's in the 30's.

Yeah man! You wouldn't believe the muscle shirts and shorts and gloveless hands I saw today (no such thing as "muscle shorts", is there) in Maryland...at 72 degrees (which, believe it or not, still needs a long-sleeve t-shirt under the light armored jacket). It ain't 80 degrees.

By the way, I'm watching the Daytona 200 right now (DVRed) so don't tell me what happens. I'm a little bummed by the Buell 1125r rider who was running in 2nd place, whose right air scoop came loose and needed to be taped down. I can't believe the pit crew didn't understand that they needed to duct tape the HELL out of it! They put a couple zip ties on it and found that it was still floppy as hell, so the rider illegally grabbed a roll of tape and lashed that sucker down! It felt GREAT to see a Buell kicking ass up to that point!

What I love is that they can do a 22 second pit stop at the Daytona 200: refuel the bike, refuel the rider, and replace the rear tire. Yet I wait a couple weeks for MY service. Ha ha...(waiting for Ratbuell to offer me a better turnaround time!)...

Easy, Hooper.. you keep knockin' the orange Ulys and it goes from weeks to months, LOL.

What service do you need? Send a service request through buelloffrederick.com or send me a note at jgoetz@hdoffrederick.com. We're not too busy yet, but the season is starting to pick up. This weekend was nutso - and yes, they were *all* out. <sigh> Whatever. : )
