I have a similar Tourmaster jacket (Pivot2). It is comfortable in most weather conditions except rain. They claim its waterproof but mine leaks through every zipper.

One jacket for all seasons. The pants are great too.

I wear a Tourmaster Transition 2 and it is very nice. My uncle bought himself and his wifeone after seeing mine. Lots of ventilation for warm days and hasn't leaked on me yet. Great jacket.

I had a TM Transition II and hated it ... it ended up in the trash. For $299 you can get an Olympia AST ... I like mine a lot, and use it for serious weather - otherwise I'm in my leather A-2 and carry a rain jacket from TM.

Why did you hate it? Lot of people seem to like it. Its on my short list so some negative feed back would be good.

""Why did you hate it? Lot of people seem to like it. Its on my short list so some negative feed back would be good.""

Okay, here goes.

A. The collar drove me nuts and it was too short for cooler whether..Grrr!
B. It bunched up at the neck, no matter whatever I did
C. Washed it twice and the stitching frayed
D. It did NOT flow air well - the vents merely vented air in between the waterproof liner and the outer jacket - NOT directly to the inside of the jacket. (this may have been a production flaw, beause the jacket had waterproof zippers at the vents, so venting air just between the WP liner and outer jacket makes no sense at all).
E. I bought the jacket because it, like me, was cheap. I should have spent the extra $125 and bought the Oly AST in the first place.
F. Lastly, I caught it with its arms around my wife ... right then and there, I'd had enough!

I ended up gutting it and removing the waterproof membrane (that was kinda fun, actually) hoping it would flow air better, and planned to then use a rain jacket if it rained. It did flow air better, but still not as comfy (the collar and bunching at the neck) as my A2 leather jacket from FlightSuits.com... so why wear it?

It made the trash shortly thereafter, and boy did that feel good, stuffing that POS in the trash.

Others have really liked their TM Transition II, so you may not want to go by me, you may be happy with it...and it is cheap enough.

Cheers
John

Went the venting is open it does like to head up and puff out. I don't find it annoying but I do understand how you could. What didn't you like about the collar other than it being vertically challenged?

That was a failed relationship I had with my TM Transition II, and it still hurts to talk about it, but, okay.

The collar hit me right under my freakishly large adam's apple - it seemed to always rub against the front of my neck, no matter what I did.

I have a TM Intake 2. I bought it because I wanted a warm (OK hot) weather jacket that still provided some protection. I am sorry to say I had not been wearing a jacket consistently in the hot Florida summers. It has worked really well as a warm weather jacket. What really surprised me was how well it works as a cool weather jacket. Mind you I am in Florida and would not suggest this as a cold weather jacket, but in cooler temps with the quilted liner and the rain liner in it does a surprisingly good job of keeping me reasonably warm.

Having seen the Flex 2 now I might be tempted to get it instead, but since I bought my intake primarily for hot weather I really can't complain at all.

I have the TT 2 and it has been a great jacket. Good water protection, good ventelation, poor pocket access and the zippers should have been of better quality.

Looks at that but decided on http://www.newenough.com/protective_apparel/textil e_jackets_and_pants/first_gear/firstgear_kathmandu _textile_motorcycle_jacket.html instead. Looks to be much better quality. I have only had it for a month but it is great so far.

I bought a Transition 2 last fall and have been wearing it all winter. I wear it every day for my commute to work. Its been great and have been comfortable from the teens to the 60's. Its only a 15 mile ride but the jacket keeps me warm and has worn well. I took a trip of about 600 miles where it was in the 20's when I left and warmed up to the low 50's and then back the 40's by time I got home. So its plenty warm. Then this past weekend I got caught in the storm that went through GA and stayed dry in the downpour. That was the first time I've been in the rain with it and not having other rain gear over it.

I can't say how the jacket will be when it get warmer. I plan on switching to a mesh jacket by then.
