Electraglider, are you going? This is my first Buell and after reading about last year's homecoming I intend to go this year.

Ulykan,
I'm not sure about attending this year's Buell Homecoming. I've gone 2 years in a row and it is a good time and a nice motorcycle trip. Problem is the timing. My wife is graduating from Law school this spring and plans to take the BAR exam in July and that creates a timing conflict. Can't imagine doing it without my wife and son along, just wouldn't be as fun. Might be time to do go elsewhere this summer since doing the same trip every year doesn't make a lot of sense. Buell Homecoming is fun and worth it if you've never done it but this is a big wide open country with many places worth visiting by bike.

May I suggest a trip through the Rockies?
Ride down to Colorado Springs and spend a little time checking out the Garden of the Gods. Then ride up to the top of Pikes Peak. After that, take Rt. 115 to Rt. 67 to Westcliff. Then go north to US Rt.50 West to Gunnison where you pick up Rt. 92 to Rt. 133 towards Carbondale. Take Rt.82 through Aspen and over Independence Pass.
I guaranty you'll love it.

I went a few years back. It was GREAT, but not a good motorcycle trip for me.

Leaving beautiful, hilly, twisty, Tennessee to ride 13 hours of flat, straight roads....well, it's a trip made for a car. : )

If you take Rt.92 or go over Independence Pass on a big Harley, you'll be wishing you had ridden your Buell across Kansas.

you'll be wishing you had ridden your Buell across Kansas. I live in Kansas and we have a LOT of flatland here so straight, boring roads/rides are the norm for me.

I'm thinking I may go, (I bought my 08 about the same time in 08). I would like to meet a few people over there, (I'm in Michigan), I'll have to see what the job says. (maybe even bring my brother on his GS).

Mad_doctor,
You've got a short easy ride. I hope to see you there. There doesn't seem to be a lot of folks from BWB or at least the Uly side going. Maybe interest will pick up as the date gets closer. If there's anyone between Kansas and Wisconsin going I'd like to meet up with you.

I'll be there, and I bet there'll be a larger contingent of Ulys than you expect.
