I just got new Michelin's today. I feel like a new man.

Having said that, I'm curious if anyone has wrestled with the choice between have a new bike and an older car.....or selling the bike and getting a newer car?

FYI, my bike is worth 3x the value of my current 98 accord.

What about leasing?

I lease a new one every three years or so and I'm always able to keep it around $250 per month. Cars are cars, I don't care what brand i drive (but love the warranty), so I just look for a good deal (pmt. per mo.), and go with that. I need a new one here again in April or May, and understand the Chevy Malibu is currently around my price point.

Of course if you're a high mileage guy, leasing really isn't an option.

Good luck

.

Does the car run? Is it paid off? I'd rather have a vehicle that runs and is paid off than making payments for a new one. And I'd never be motorcycle-less. Because it would be too hard to convince the wife to let me get another one.

Hell, the bikes are the newest thing around here.

94 Suburban
96 Caravan
99 M2
99 Honda ZR50 - tons of fun hours!
06 Uly

We hate car payments, so we'll probably always have older cars. Don't really care if the "jones" like it or not!

New bike and older car is the way to go, imho. That's how it is here anyway.

I'm keeping the Uly (can't wait to get it back from the shop - getting the 10,000 mile service and a new front tire), and getting a new car. My current car is getting old and tired and is starting to run into those chronic, expensive problems, and I'm dying to experience some of the new technology put into cars in the last 11 years.

The dealers are slashing prices without asking them. Plus, with the Stimulus Package, it looks like I'll be able to write off some of the interest and sales tax...I know I'll kick myself in a year or two if I don't take advantage of this.

i have been car-less for almost a year now (but to be fair, my wife has one incase I need to carry anything big... BUT I have carted 50lbs of dog food and some other items that at first seemed over the top). Really, I don't miss having a car.

The thought has never entered my mind. When I MUST drive, I have a giant yellow 93 E350 with 315k miles. I could never even think about the possibility of getting rid of any of the bikes to pick up something more, ummmm, this decade. Riding to work makes every day tolerable.

Just closed on a new G37 six-speed, and I'm about beside myself with lust for this machine. I love ALL fast machines. This thing has more technology than I've ever owned in my life. And I got a great price. I traded in my old whip, so I am totally psyched to be in one of the coolest cars on the road. It means a lot to me...but it won't keep me from riding...

Get a brand new F150 standard PU. I bought mine in 1991 and since then I have been buying bikes. The truck will run forever. K
