I am interested in a bigger top case for my XB12XT. It seems that the Hepco & Becker (H&B) Junior 45 liter top case fits the bill. This is the same case as the Buell Outdoorsman without the logo. It appears as though it will fit the factory mount that came with the bike. Correct me if I am wrong here. The Buell Outdoorsman side cases are the equivilant of the H&B Junior II 30 liter cases. They also make a 40 liter model which I understand is 4" wider than the 30 liter model. My questions are these: 1) Do the 30 liter and 40 liter side cases fit on the same brackets?; 2) These brackets are different than the ones that came on the bike, right?; 3) Where can you buy these brackets separately? (I would rather buy the pieces separately from A&S as apposed to Buell because there is significant $ savings). | ||

I called the distributor for HB. He stated that yes the HB Junior 45 liter topcase will fit the factory mount. However, the HB Junior II 30 (40) liter cases will not fit the factory mounts. Not only that, the only place you can get the mounts for these cases is if you buy the cases and the mounts as a kit from Buell. He also stated that the HB Junior II 30 side cases are not the same as the ones that come in the kit from Buell. Apparently they are "tapered" differently. |
