I am looking for a way to get, radar detector, gps, mp3 in my helmet in that order of priority. the only thing I have now is an Ipod and ear buds am I asking for to much I know I might as well drive a car  | ||

Do you have a price limit? If not, go with an Autocom audio system and a Garmin Zumo GPS. I have this combination, and it allows me to listen to the GPS, music, and my phone via speakers in my helmet. If I had a radar detector I could wire it in as well. The whole setup was about a grand though, so be prepared to lay down some cash. | ||

+1 on the Autocom There are audio mixers for motorcycles out there, but I have not used any of them. | ||

I put the starcom on my Ulysses, and now have two units, so I don't have to switch them back and forth between bikes. The only reason I went with the Starcom over the autocom was that at the time (not sure if this is still the case), you needed to spend even more money to get stereo out of the autocom, which was already priced higher than the starcom. I bought the bluetooth option on the starcom, so my phone connects to the intercom, the Zumo GPS would be a great option for a GPS, has lots of ways for you to also interface the radar and XM radio if you want that. Although, on the the Ulysses there isn't tons of room to put things like that. Most Wings and BMW owners end up with some type of shelves on them to put all their electronic gadgets. It can be done on the Ulysses. I've seen photos, but it's awfully crowded on the handlebars. Wayne | ||

+1 on the Starcom. Quite a bit less $$$ than the Autocom and it works great. The headsets are inexpensive (That's where some of the other brands really soak you) and they have a headset that allows you to plug your earbuds right into them if you prefer those over helmet speakers. I have mine mounted in my tankbag with the leads coming out through various ports I installed in the bag. I have mine interfaced as a passenger to rider intercom, Cell Phone, CB radio, GPS, and MP3. As i recall a radar detector can be interfaced also. Google Starcom1 to get the particulars. Ron | ||

I use the Mix-it2 for my Sirius and gps. Works pretty well, have the gps as the priority channel so when the voice prompt comes on, it automatically lowers the radio. Won't work for communication, either with cell phone, or bike to bike radios...Sits in the side pocket of my tank bag, and the volume is easily lowered with gloves on if needed. | ||

The Zumo has MP3 capability, and bluetooth to connect to a phone. I was going to just get a pair of higher quality earplug/phones and plug them up to the zumo. No radar detector though. | ||

Take a look at the motocomm riderlink st-1. http://www.handsfreedirect.com/motocomm/riderlinks t1/ I found mine cheaper on Fleabay around $120 it has the priority your looking for. So far so good on it's use. I figure it is a good bang for the buck. | ||

Sush you, I feel like I am practically dead. Look, I have made only 2 posts in the last few days. Anyway I got a Zumo 550 with the XM dongle and hard wired helmet speakers going into my helmet. Something is wrong with my setup as I can't hear anything once I start the bike. Perhaps I should sue Micron. | ||

I use a heads-up display with my radar detector. The one I use is not made anymore but now you can get this one: http://www.radarforbikes.com/ Oneal has a new helmet which has bluetooth for around $280.00 which gives you phone and music. GPS in helmet? I am not that interested in where I am going, I just like to go. | ||

Just found Autocom Active Plus Duo (rider and pillion) for sale on ebay (Riders of Bristol) for $180 USD including shipping. Looking forward to trying it out. |
