This is a picture of me coming out of Mary's Tunnel up on Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Natl. Park. last weekend. Probably not the best place to be riding in the middle of the winter! My friend that was with me came from the flatlands of Cape May N.J. and was on his VFR800. He dropped his bike doing a u-turn. No damage other than a scratch or two, but it did look odd that a Uly whipped out a tight u-turn! I cant wait until spring! btw- not a very good picture, hope to get some better ones when it warms up some.

Wow, cool pic (figuratively) You are a lucky man to live at the gateway to some excellent riding. Front Royal has always meant the end of a day of interstate and the beginning of excellent riding culminating with the dragon!
I think the Skyline and the BR should be yearly required riding!

We can send Dr. Greg on ahead to clear out the deer for us!! Last time I was on Skyline the deer where everywhere! 35 mph seemed plenty fast!

The deer population can definitely be thinned out up there. I had a red tail hawk fly out in front of my face, and we saw a pretty large bob cat up there too. The best thing that was not up there were humans in cages. We rode up there for several hours and saw only 1 or 2 cars the whole time. Dr. Greg could have one heck of a trophy room from up here! 35 mph's was pretty much the max we were able to do anyway with the road conditions. If it was'nt ice, there was gravel and cinders all over. I take living here for granted sometimes, until my friend reminds me of how this place is "motorcycle nirvana"!

Yep.......I got to ride the Va mountains Friday.Had to go up to our property in Patrick Springs,Va for a shed delivery,so I slid the supermoto in the van(just in case).Lots of salt-sand on the roads & some slushy ice on the parkway. It was still great to get away from the coast(sucky roads) to ride some "real" roads.

Gotta watch the bear up there also. Saw 3 up there on different occasions. Almost hit one of them.
