Traded in my trusty 99 Cyclone saturday for a 2009 Ulysses. I love it! I got the sexy Barricade Orange version. The weather's pretty crappy here in WV, got less than 200 miles on it so far. Can someone point me in the direction on how to have both headlights on high beam? Has anyone tried the PIAA extreme white headlight bulbs, if so, are they worth the money? I have a set of Motolights I took off my Cyclone but need to modify the brackets to fit the Uly. The only fuel injection issue is a very slight stumble pulling away from a stop if the rpm's less than 2000. This is the best handling / riding bike I've ever owned. Jerry in WV | ||

Congrats Jerry! The Uly (like other Buell's I'm sure) just gets better the more you ride it. I am addicted to mine and fall in love again every time I ride her. Wow...I guess that might sound pretty sick, but oh well!  | ||

guess that might sound pretty sick, but oh well! Sounds like my experience with mine so far. I sure hope it's not a sickness, but alas if it is I don't want to be well. Enjoy, I know I am loving mine. ~1500 miles I've put on mine in the three and a half weeks I have owned her. I find myself doing more riding in the cold than I ever have done in the past just because she is so much fun to take out and twist the throttle and throw into the twisties. | ||

Congrats Jerry! I used Wallmart driving lights to help with the lighting issues.Can't remember what I paid for them.I had them from a previous project.You will love the bike.Mine is the only bike I've owned that I want to keep forever. Jerry, Congrats on choosing the superior Ulysses color. If your motolights are the standard fork mount style, all that you need are new straps. I'll see if I can find a note with the correct size, the folks at motolight were very helpful in getting the correct parts. It is readily possible to get the headlight switch to 'hang up' in the middle, with both beams on. I'm not sure this is great for the switch though. Of course you can only know if you have hit the right spot if you can see the lights. Mark in Arizona | ||

Motolights sent both 6-15/16" and 6-7/8" straps. I think that the 6-15/16 turned out to be the best fit. I'll check a few other places to see if I still have the 'wrong' straps. Mark in arizona | ||

Most easy way to have them both on at the same time: Leave it in lowbeam and use the "passing" flasher. I use this method when doing exit ramps at night. | ||

I called Motolights yesterday and told them I wanted to transfer my lights to an 09 Uly. They are sending new straps, along with new bulbs and seals. Anyone have any wire routing tips for installing these lights on my Uly? Working on my Cyclone was no problem, pretty simple bike. The Uly has me a little intimadated. | ||

I ran a hot wire with an inline fuse from the battery to the inside of the windscreen.Used a ground from inside the screen.Wired in a relay & mounted my switch in the dash,above the speedo. | ||

hangetsu,most of the time I run the small in the daytime,and at idle with fan on my headsup voltage monitor will go steady amber which is suppose to be 11-12 volts,I don't ride at night much around here the U.P. of michigan has just to many deer,bear ect. ect.but on the occasion when I'm out at night I run all the lights the light force are triggered thru a relay only to work on high beam with a extra switch on handlebar to turn off and on. I haven't hd any electrical probs.but all my aux light run on 10 ga.marine wire from the batt. to centech 2 dist. box. |
