If I could fit the rear end off of a "s" That would look GREAT! (I know it wont bolt up) Super naked kinda like this, but tall, long & light...

The SS tail will fit no issues, I have seen one with a S tail. There is a Uly thats always on ebay that has a SS tail and R front, perhaps thats what your looking for? I don't see it on there right now. |

Froggy, I want to go with the small fly screen. I've seen a couple of Uly/Bolt, but it just not my thing. Barker, I like the way those look, but I think it would look better with the "s" tail section.... are you any good at photoshop? |

Mainly just the triple tail and rear fender removed, also the lower front fender.

Maybe not street pretty, but this High Country H-D/Buell modified XB12STT piloted by Brian Anderson took on Pikes Peak this year.

Maybe I misunderstand the definition of motard but how exactly does one "motard" a Uly? My understating is that "motarding" began when someone decided to throw a set of street wheels/tires on a motocross bike. The Uly is hardly a motocross bike. It's barley a dual sport. From the looks of the photos in this thread, it appears to me that you guys are discussing street fighters. Tipsy |

Yea I am confused too, I assumed he meant the Lightning tail, because thats about as close as you can get to tarding the Uly without loosing 250lbs. |

And that is why the marketing crew that decided the STT was a super MOTO missed the mark, big time. It should have been branded as the ULY for the single rider. IT was WAAAAY too heavy to be a Super MOTO. Locally we sold out of them, but it seemed to be a bike that stalled in execution from press hype, marketing direction to showroom representation. Its a great bike, the one I wish they had had when I bought, but it aint supermoto, motard or the likes there of. |

I know it will never be a Motard or Supermoto.... But I can make it look like one that ate to many HO HO's and Twinkies.... |

Here is our XB12STT demonstrating owning the corners compared to the less capable, il-equipped KTM Motard rider seen off in the dust of Pikes Peak International Race this summer.

The guy who owns that bike used to race Motards for several years and he rides the wheels off of it! When I went with that particular Italian Buell club to their annual run to Sardinia I was floored at how fast some of the guys are! They ride them like they are supposed to be ridden. I had a hard time keeping up and I ride pretty hard! I really like those alpina wheels but they are pricey! |

As much as I like my Uly, it ain't no motard. For example....take a stock uly... Firm up the suspension. Loose a few pounds.... Throw on some super moto bars.... Get more power from the motor and eliminate the factory fueling issues..... and bada boom baaby, you have one of these: I know the Duc ain't a tard either, but out of the box it is a heck of a lot closer than the Uly. For hooligan riding they both are fun too. There was only one bike to beat the uly to the top of pikes peak, and it was only by a few seconds so they both are capable machines. It was a combination of this video and pikes peak victory that made me want a hyper to satisfy my motard cravings. I have retired the Uly to two up back road riding until some nice aggressive tires become available in our size. IMHO tire availability is the only thing keeping the uly from being a true adventure bike. But this is why I love the hyper. |

The Hypermotard is one sweet bike for sure. If I had the scratch on hand, I'd pick one up. I've been slobbering over this bike since it came out. |
