If you go off road here it means riding on a lot of grass and low vegetation. Doesn't snow, and rarely gets below 40f.

There is very little exposed dirt - anywhere on the North Island - that isn't a mountain.

Soon as it gets wet - with the road tyres - all over rover.

CityXSlicker - are those by chance the Avon Pro Rain Xtremes? If so I've looked at those too...local dealers couldn't get any within 6 weeks, so I went with the 60's.....I'd be interested to hear how they compare.

BTW - that photo in the snow is the Kettle Valley Railway - same place I went with DeBueller a couple of years back....fall of the edge, and they might find you next spring....

Ulendo...what's that strange melted spot in the snow there behind your bike? If I had to guess, it looks like someone took a pit stop.

Ah yes.....the KVRR. That trip is etched in my mind.

Thanks for the guided tour, Chris.

Haven't seen you here for a while. I was hoping that you were still around showing that CityXslicker isn't the only nut railing his CityX in the dirt.

BTW, if you two ever get together for a ride, (we all only live a few hundred miles apart) I want to witness that. That would be quite a show.....

Ulendo, I am taking a trip to Alaska in June on my 08 XT. Thinking of putting on MT60's. What kind of tread life have you experienced?

if you are doing a mix of road and trail, about 4k is all the rear is good for. If you are doing more dedicated dirt, I did get one to stretch to 6k before having to pull it. The 60's are a nice tire, gotta lotta meat on them, they like the dirt better than the pavement tho.

Yes NORTH! Sounds like a road trip, unless Ulendo wants to come down for Sportbike/Dualsport NW.... I secured that week off this year.

I'd love to come...but.

I'm not canadian ( british citizen) so getting across the border is a total joke show for me: passport, visa, permanent resident card, border services gong show, w.h.y. Its actually easier for me to get on a plane and go to China, or Australia than to come south of the border for a day!!

Captain Lou tire life isnt so bad up here - roads tend to be asphalt, not concrete. legal ( in many cases 'attainable') speeds tend to be lower than what I see posted in the US, and ambient temps help tire life. running locally, about 40% dirt, I managed 9k (km) on my best MT60 rear. If you're headed north, I'd suggest making arrangements to have '60's put on 'farther up'...say Prince George, or Grande Prairie if you're taking the Alberta route. If you come my way (Okanagan Valley) chime in, and I'll see if I can get away for a day or something, and show you around a bit.

Jerry - still got the CityX, but have had a somewhat messed up year, and havent been on here posting much.
