For those contemplating the ZTL2 conversion I thought I'd share my afternoon of playing with the bit. I was searching the forum and found a prior post for the ZTL2 bits for the 06 Uly in this post:
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/404675.html

which lead to

Just wanted to pass the word that the line
H1531.1AMA is probably for an application other than the XB12X. The stock line is about 38" long. Ideally, the ZTL2 line would be about 36" long and with a flat banjo fitting. The part above is about 27" long. FWIW, the Buell line is quite nice, and comes with new washers and bolts.

I wound up flipping my original line as I needed an angled fitting by the master cylinder. The extra slack would probably work out nice for those with risers.

So save the $40 bucks or so and re-use your old line!

Hey Sekalilgai,

How did you snag a red caliper (cool)... I thought the conversion kit came w/ a black one.

+1 how did it work for you?

thanks for the p/n Sleez

No chance to try it, the roads are a little slick tonight... more like 'just how good is this stability control' donuts in the snow with the cage weather. Not that going out for a beer was any smarter. Still have to finish up remounting the heated grip controller...doohickey
Sorry I am not doing a very good job keeping that paint job clean Vern!

I'm used to doing the 40-10 mph cycle (like a dozen times) process to bed in new pads ... does it apply here to?

I should have weighed it ... non scientific swag thinks 1-2lb? certainly more a 'shiny red part' decision than any rational, I-could-really-use-this, decision on my part. Snow still on the roads tonight..

Got a chance to bed the brakes and give it a try today. So far I cannot tell that much difference in the bit of riding we had today (still loads of gravel/salt on the roads). It feels like the modulation at significant pressure feels better. Unfortunately I used a different master cylinder (19mm Nissin radial off fleabay) from the 14mm conventional specified so that adds another variable (not to mention new pads).

I had to 'tweak' the handguard to clear the lever, a heatgun helped out nicely.
