Well not to long ago after Buelltoberfest I posted a thread letting everyone know I had sold the Uly and picked up a new 2008 GL1800 for touring duty. I mentioned in the thread that I would own another Buell and hopefully in time for MBVI.

Well.....

I am the proud new owner of a Buell again. I purchased a 98 S3T from a badwebber. The bike is currently being torn down to the frame for a rework. I just finished pulling the motor out the frame and I will be taking the bike completely apart (to powder coat the frame, swingarm, etc.)this winter. I am hoping the bike will be ready to ride to MBVI in March.

This is it before the tear down

That's my favorite of the tube framers. Good job!
Enjoy.

Beautiful bike - and you can see the engine, which is always a plus in my book.

What color combo are you planing on, if I may ask?

Johnboy777,
Good question, I thought about going back original, although after seeing the tubeframe/xb bike on the quick board I am highly tempted to make it into a S1/xb hybrid.

If I keep it original, I actually like the silver, but I am trying to decide on the frame color.

I am really open to ideas right now, as I can't quite find any good examples (images) of any custom S3T's unless they are candy red and white.

""If I keep it original, I actually like the silver, but I am trying to decide on the frame color.""

The Uly frame color might set the silver off nicely...just a thought.

Opinions Wanted

Would it be worth anything to keep it original?

Should I go with my "Lust" and chop it into a street fighter?

I'd hate to radically mod a pristine bike like that. Find a beater tuber on ebay or Craig's List if you want to build a street fighter.

Do the frame in an electric blue. I love silver w/blue accents. Any bright color would really set off the silver IMO.
