just added heated grips to the Uly and re-routed my throttle cables to allow me to add the Rox Risers when they get here. My issue is I cant seem to get the throttle cables lined back up or fitting in the pinch protector or remember how they go in.

Anybody got a picture of how its supposed to be?
Do the cables actually follow the wire loom through the protector or do they hop out before the bolts?

thanks in advance and as always thanks for the innovators like Treadmarks.

Are you talking about the piece that bolts to the steering head and covers the harness also?

OK, if your guide looks like this one:

... that's the old style that doesn't give much room for the job, tends to crimp things and damage the harness.

The cables are supposed to pass through there along with the harness, along the top of the harness. I dug into mine this week to find a broken tach wire in the harness where the bundle exits the guide.

Patched everything up and left that little P.O.C. off completely, loosely securing the throttle cables to where the bolts used to be with a couple zip ties. Everything is free and unrestricted now, and the steering is amazingly light.

I did order the new and improved part #Y1000.2AK, cost a whopping $3.50. I may or may not install it, as of now it's just fine.

Couple of threads in BadWeB on this helped:

I have the upgraded protector on the bike, came with it, Ive never even seen the old style.

It is raining out now and I am beat from EMT class.

No one posted a pic here or on ADV so I will have to just go out and try to wing it back together. I looked through about 500 pics on ADV and every shot is either from the other side or obscured.

thanks

Try the search function, type in "rox risers", search BB&D forums for 800000 days.

Lots of threads there.

800,000 days is 2190.28 years, a little overkill unless you want to know about the Ancient Egyptians use of the Rox Risers on their camels.

I just went to the source. Stopped at my local dealer and laid underneath their leftover 06 with the proper cable.

And I did search and read and look and no one, I repeat no one, has a picture on the interwebs of their Uly with a good shot of the loom guard. Not even Treadmarks or FatBastard.

That I could find.
