Anyone out there running the ZUMO GPS willing to share photos of your set-up. I had mine installed by the dealer with the prep of my 09 Uly. They did a great job of wiring it in, but using the stock mount the default location, the space just to the side of the brake lever, has the thing almost in my face. I would enjoy seeing any creative efforts at mounting the ZUMO, including alternate mounting hardware, that anyone else has tried. Any ideas will be welcomed.

Thanks.

That was fast. Thanks Froggy, but that's pretty much the same as where mine is. I'm trying to figure out something that will get it a little lower and centralized and behind the windscreen, but without blocking my view of the clocks, or crunching it between the bars and the air box cover.

You do have a pretty sweet looking Uly there. Very well farkled, I must say,

Thanks for the input.

JLB, here is the photoshop Fritz made a while back : )

Sorry for the thread jack!

You got the Buell Zumo I take it? If it uses the same ram mount system, you can get different mounts for the crossbrace. Maximum has his Zumo on the crossbrace and XM antenna in the airbox.

Yep, It's the Buell (HD)ZUMO. It does use the Ram mounting system, which aint bad. It just doesn't allow for many location options. I've looked at the Touratech mount which seems pretty nice, but I've not seen any pictures of one mounted up on a bike.

ow did "Maximum" mount his?

Sorry. I cannot find a good picture of my setup. But, I use a RAM ball mount on the left side of the handle bars. Simple and clean. I grab power from under the fly screen... hijacked from the plug intended for the front 12Volt accessory plug.

Thanks Froggy. That guy's really gone all out. He's either got a rich wife, or he's won the lottery. That's some pretty incredible time and $$$ he's dumped into that thing. He also lives in my neighborhood, or at least state. I hope to run into him someday.

Cheers.

Froggy...thanks for covering for me.

Nearly all my non-work time has been consumed with building a new house. In fact, so has most of my extra money too! So the only changes I have done recently has been to change some things back to original. Some things (not all) are better left alone (IMO). I'll give a good update here when I have some free time.

I do have the parts on order for one fairly significant upgrade that might be worth me stopping (hint) what I am doing to take some pictures...if only I can give myself a break (hint hint) from the house project for long enough to work on the bike.

Hey Max,

I love some of the things you've done to your Uly. I'm envious of your fabrication skills. ALso, it seems that we live in the same neck of the woods. It's be nice to meet you sometime, perhaps at one of the CRAG functions at High Country HD.

Cheers.

Hey Alex,

It might not be until the spring that my schedule lightens up, but I'm sure we will cross paths at some point.

Here are some pictures that I just dug up of my current GPS mounting. I love me GPS mounted on the crossbar, in the dead center of my vision.

Very sweet set-up. I think I may do the same, but with the Touratech locking mount.

Thanks. See ya around.

Hey Maximum - Nice clean out of the way GPS solution. As I'm unfamiliar with the ZUMO mounting hardware, How do you avoid theft as you currently have it afixed to your steed ? j

The Zumo has a security screw that requires a special tool, but if am parking in a questionable area...I will just remove the unit from the bike and carry it with or lock it in the luggage.

Has anyone out there used the Touratech locking ZUMO mount? It looks like a rugged set-up, though a bit pricey.
