Hey boys and girls, I need a skid/bash-plate for my Uly. Wondering if anyone knows of a high quality plate I can buy or if I'm better off making my own ? Any reviews or experiences appreciated.

The muffler's pretty stout, actually - if you beat it up too bad you can always buy another on ebay for $100.

I use the standard muffler - no problems yet.
The Touratech offering gets good reviews.

That's some cool looking stuff, but damn, it's expensive.

I've bashed the crap out of my muffler and it as of yet to even dent...just a little rust is all. No real need for a skid plate.

I don't know Carbonsteel, I have killed a few mufflers (stock, race, and Drummer) just by riding my Bolts like an idiot. I'm getting my Uly soon and really plan on riding that like a full-blown retard.

Cityxslicker, I see you have one, out of 1 to 10 what would you rate it ? Would you recommend any of the other Touratech gee-gaws ?

If you get a Drummer for a few extra $ Kevin will weld in an heavy guage plate to the inside of the bottom.

my photos wont load right now, but if you do a search you will find how I dented the shiate out of my exhaust from riding off road (yes it was the last Buell race can on the west coast) It works great, 9 out of ten. It would get a ten except that my planned muffler mods wont allow me to run it any more. Gonna franken carve something out of the Blast exhaust and a FlowMaster muffler, something skinnier that gives me more ground clearance. Pics to come as progress goes.

They tell you cant run the bike cage either..... or the right side scoop, ... They say alot; dont they?

And this is why I ride with a skid plate...

Any questions? +1 on the Touratech
