I have shipped my bike to the city of my new job (DC) but now they have delayed the start date by a month. It's funny, I really didn't get excited about riding the Uly around town (OKC) and actually questioned my own motivation to ride on a weekly basis...UNTIL that option was taken from me!

Now I'm chomping at the bit and having serious withdraw symptoms. Stepping on the gas in my Accord is just not the same feeling as twisting that throttle and hearing the drummer get angry. It sounds like an angry bee who's pissed and wants to sting something (or someone).

It's true what they say...you don't know what you have 'til it's gone. Who else has had this experience? Share your story...

After my Uly got wrecked last fall, I almost went nuts. Life got so much better once i got the Long, which is on its way to becoming a Uly : )

I am dreading the impending winter. I know Froggy will post up the pic of the snow and ice covered Uly and tell me to HTFU but I don't want to down it and they salt like mad up here. So it will be modding time but I can't wait for spring. Riding it until the first real snowfall then start blowing even more money on her. That wave rotor sure looks nice on Froggy's bike...

I'm feeling the withdrawal pretty bad, and it's only been a week since I dinged up the Uly.

I have to wait until December to get it back!

When my Uly was getting rebuilt earlier this year, I was able to temper my Ulyneeds with my Harley, but I definitely got a bit tired of not having luggage, not having an aggressive posture, not having wind protection, not going off-road, etc.

Okc99, you're going to dig the roads around the DC area (once you escape the traffic and sprawl). I know a bunch of the DC-area BadWebbers will have suggestions, and the winters are definitely rideable if you watch the weather and have the right gear.

I thought Oklahoma would be great for riding but what the west lacks that the East has is the ability to provide nice 1-3 hr rides going through small towns. Out here in the dust bowl, there is Dallas south, Santa Fe west, and the Arkansas mts (which are great, but no infrastructure to support "fun" once you get off the bike). I'm actually looking forward to heading back East. Can't wait to ride down to Wilmington, NC (my 2nd favorite city).

Okc - when you get out here, drop me a note. I grew up right at the DC beltway, and now live about 40 min. northwest of town in Frederick MD.

They're right - you do need to get out of town to have any fun.

We've got some great roads up here, and some great Uly "roads" in the parks, too ; )

Let me just reiterate, and maybe those of you who have actually had to store your bike for the winter can relate, but knowing my bike is stored in a Milwaukee warehouse in this, the last few weeks of warm riding, is driving me nuts!

None, man...the Uly is pretty cheap, as far as I'm concerned and for what it does. Why I bought a Harley after that? It must have been all that easy credit a year or two ago!

(I think you meant to post this back on the other thread...)

Dropped my ULY off for warranty repairs today and am already "jonesing". Ended up drooling over a 1125CR and thinking how to talk to the better half into another bike

I'll admit it - I didn't like the pictures of the 1125CR, but then I saw one at the dealer last weekend...

It worked for me. Even those nutty air funnels and the Terminator headlight. It was right next to an 1125R, and I think I might have gone for the CR for its hooligan tendencies vs. the R's track look. I used to think it looked like a science fiction movie villain, but not anymore...I need to get a test ride.

Damn. I can't get another bike. Or can I?
