Any of you out there have experience with the "Zero Gravity" touring windscreen and care to share your opinions? I rode naked or 1/4 fared bikes all my life (in my 20's)and well, I guess I'm not as tough in my late 40's as I thought I would be. The zub-freezing temperatures of my morning commute are a little much, so I'm thinking a little more protection might give me at least 30 more minutes ride time before I turn hypothermic. I thought if getting the Buell tall screen, but I like the looks of the Zero Gravity smoke grey screen better and they're the same price. Any experienced based opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. A- |

I don't know about the Zero Gravity, but I did have the Buell tall screen on mine last winter. I'm 6'3 and it didn't help much, it only seemed to make the cockpit noisier, and beat me up a little more. The stock screen is much better for me, less buffeting. Now I just turn up the heated jacket and enjoy the quiet. |

I've had the ZG windscreen for over a year. I like it a lot - moved my comfort zone at speed up by a least 10 mph - 80 mph is very comfortable now. I'm 6'3" late 40's as well. Moved the air stream to the top of my shoulders from my arms and chest- my head runs in clean air. I won't go back to std. and have no desire to mount anything larger on the bike. |

I put 7,500 miles on in a week last July with a ZG shield and palmer brackets. (I'm 58 yrs old). With the ZG, my elbows took the brunt of the wind. I'd say that in cold weather the ZG would be an improvement, but not that much over the stock Buell one. Look at the parabellum shields. The width of the parabellum is from mirror stem to mirror stem. Much wider than any other shield out there. (to my knowledge) I'm currently running a parabellum with the palmer brackets and think that's as good as it's going to get until Buell comes out with a full touring fairing. Bob |

Like any windscreen, it depends on your height and build. I have the Zero Gravity, and I like it. At 6'2", it works for me. I get very little buffeting, but a little increase in wind noise. On longer trips, I wear ear plugs, so that really isn't a concern for me. If I run the '06 seat instead of the stock '07, it's quieter due to the taller seat. |

I rode with my ZG screen for about 4000 miles and absolutely loved it over the stock. Then one day just for the hell of it I went out and bought a tall buell screen and I have had that on for a little over 3000 miles now and I absolutely love the Buell tall screen. That little extra lip on the front seems to really do a good job of pushing the wind to the top of my helmet. I am 5'8" with the Buell low seat. For me it now seems to be the perfect combination. |

I replaced my Zero Gravity 3.5 Sport Touring with a Madstad Adjustable. I'll sell the ZG for $50.00 plus shipping cost. |

Cockpit noise can be influenced by a lot of things, such things has height, jackets and choice of helmet, oddly enough. I love my ZG +4 Besides, it's what all the cools guys are using. . |

I have a Cee Baileys 16" which I use in the winter months and it keeps the wind off me but I can't stand it in the warmer weather, too much wind on my helmet! I haven't put it on yet this year but I will soon. I use the Buell tall in the warmer months. |

I have a ZG +3.5 and found that it was only a marginal improvement over the factory windscreen. I am 6'1" (long legs, avg. torso) and both screens seem to direct the air right into my face. I added a Vario spoiler from Twisted Throttle to the top of the ZG screen and that seems to have really helped me. It is almost like an adjustable laminar lip, that does not look as dumb. I am still not totally comfortable at 80, but at 70 I am doing pretty good now. I had to used some 1/4-20 carriage bolts at the lower screen mounts to hold it in place because the factory press-studs would not hold up. |

Put the Zero Gravity on my bike for the trip to Buelltoberfest. Liked it so much, that I haven't put my green short one back on. |

I'm right under 5'8" with a 30" inseam. The tall shield gave me clean air, no buffet, but alot of wind noise. Ended up with a Madstad, tall shield and Laminar lip. Pulled back fully to the rear and at the lowest setting. No noise, no buffet and no bugs on the face shield. |

Hey, I'd like to thank all you all for some really great input. Prior to posting, I actually took a look at most of the screens you all mentioned, and though many of them offer some great protection, I think I've heard enough good news about the ZG to stick with my first opinion and go with that one. No offense to all of you who prefer the protection of sliding door width plexiglass, but I do have my pride to consider. This is a Buell, ya know, not a Bimmer. We have a sporting, pseudo-hooligan reputation to maintain The 20% or so better protection I get from the ZG will have to do. It looks gorgeous! Thanks again. A- |

Make sure you also upgrade the mounting fixtures. If you try to use the standard push-in fasteners from the standard short screen, then I think it will end up in a field at some point! |

I have the ZG with Madstad. Looks and works great. I had a CB +4 with a lip and the air was "dirtier". I think it was due to the lip. Very happy with the ZG/Madstad set-up. |

Fubar - Does the ZG have to be drilled to fit the Madstad brackets? Do you have the sport touring or stock replacement ZG? |

+1 on the Palmer brackets and Parabellum. I tried the ZG+4 without brackets, just got more noise. With brackets - ZG ok in summer - not so good in winter. The Parabellum is cut to 16" - great protection for a 5'8" rider - but not too much sail area. Just leave it on all the time now. Solid in to the triple digits... or so I've heard. |

Noisy for me but better than stock. Not enough protection for winter. Try the parabellum and let us know. It is going to be my next experiment. Wind noise is my only real complaint about the bike. |
