-Cold tires
-Truck in front stopping to turn while I was headchecking the next lane
-Too much front brake

I think you guys can figure the rest out.

Luckily, I'm doing better than the bike.

It's a terrible thing, but I'm glad to hear you're doing at least somewhat well, as I'm sure your friends and family are too.

Though I hate to hear things like this, it reminds me to be as careful and aware as possible.

Hope things are better.

I'll trade ya!
Pretty much the same scenario with much different results. Bike suffered less than $150 in broken/bent parts. I'm guessing damage to me was over 80 grand (insurance took care of most of it).
Now I wave like McCain. Glad to hear you're OK.

Most likely will need to replace the frame on the Uly.

I'll also say that even though BMW riding gear is crazy expensive. I will be replacing it with same. ATGATT.

Aerostich combat touring boots
BMW comfortshell pants and jacket
elkskin gauntlet gloves
Shoei RF-1000 helmet (somehow only the visor is scratched a bit, but I may still get a new one)

Only damage to me is a bruised wrist, knee, and ego.

The worst part was my wife heard about it on the radio before I could call her.

So there is little chance you will be riding with the mid Tenn boys this Sunday? Shit. That sucks. Glad you are OK.

Natron, I'm really glad that you're ok. About 30 years ago I wasn't so lucky when a car made a illegal left turn in front of me. I broke my left arm and fractured my right wrist; required surgery to fix the arm. Bike was totaled. Anyway I hope that you get back on 2 wheels again really soon. Look at it this way, great riding weather is ending so you'll probably not miss too much. Good luck.

Natron, speedy recovery! BTW a review on the comfort shell stuff would be very cool. I am thinking about giving it a try when the Rev'it stuuf wears out. I read that after washing it loses its "pinecone" waterproofing.

I'll post some pics within the next day or two.

Supertoon,
I'll definitely post a full review of the comfortshell stuff. I have (had) close to 10,000 miles on this set.

I beefed it into a deer at 50-some mph earlier this year and walked (well, rode...the Uly is tough!) away pretty much unscathed. ATGATT - Olympia AST and pants setup.

I opted to not replace my frame because it too appeared unscathed, but later found a hairline crack on a weld that seeped fuel...I definitely got it replaced then.
