With HD dino oil I ran 2,000 - 2,500 mi. between oil changes and 4,000 - 5,000 mi. between filter chances. Then I switched to HD Syn3 at 6,000 mi. or so.

Just curious - how long are you guys running between synthetic oil changes?

.

I'll run 5K on both oil and filter unless really dusty or rough riding.

+1
5,000 miles on filter and synthetic oil. I also do the primary at the same time, since it is only 1 quart of oil, and I'm right there with the drain pan anyways.

I ran HD dino for the first 33000 miles, changed every 3000. Just switched to Mobil 1 V-twin syn and plan to do changes at 5000.

If it's all paved road riding (little dust or dirt roads) 7500 mi should be no problem. AMS oil sez you can double the change interval. I still have an adverse psycho'logical reaction to black oil - I just have to drain it. Use AMS 20/50 in both trans & crankcase every 5K. But don't worry on long trips if I go over - $30 worth of syn oil is cheap insurance.

Been doing 5K and the oil coming out still looks pretty good. The last change it was still purple. (I run Royal Purple)
