Are any BadWeb Vendor's offering 20% Discounts to us?

I need to buy some Harley/Buell gear and apparel and would like to use one of our vendors if possible...I can get a 20% discount from a non-BadWeb vendor.

That'd be a long shot . . . most are about 10%, perhaps 15%.

At 20% I . . if the goods were competing with my HD motorclothes for all space . . . would choose not to carry the Buell.

If you get 10% off it's a pretty fair deal but shop around.

Thanks Court, I appreciate the response. But I can't imagine burning up my time and long distance bill, calling all over the country looking for a 20% off BadWeb vendor. IMHO, we should all know who they are, simply by visiting the vendor section. Or if you are a lazy FF like me, via a post.

""If you get 10% off it's a pretty fair deal but shop around.""

Fair deal? Fair for whom? Not me, the customer.

I do appreciate this site a lot (and the effort that goes in running it, which personally, I could never do) - and without it, I could not imagine getting my bike to run properly. But that being said, if I spend a grand or so, that means I'll have to spend an extra $100 (10% vs. 20%) just to use a BadWeb vendor....hmmm. Realistically, how many people reading this would do that?

Everyone knows who gives a 20% discount on Harley/ Buell gear and apparel. Either a vendor matches it or not, that's their call. Just don't expect me to pay extra for the privilege of using them because they are a sponsor. All things being equal, I'll gladly make it a point to use a BadWeb sponsor each and every time, absolutely - just don't ask me to throw an extra 100 bucks their way ... that's just plain stupid.

I'm not trying to p*ss in anyones cornflakes here, but I've been in commissioned sales for 25 years ...I match fees every day to get business.

Cheers.

Have you tried ordering from that place that gives 20% off? You’re looking at a month minimum to get your part.
I placed a decent sized order the other day with Danbury, no discount. I will be ordering a belt soon from Liberty, they are like 10% I think, and then some random maintenance items from Appleton, also 10%. Do I care I could save about $20 by going to the non-sponsor? Not really. Not only will I get my parts a hell of a lot faster, I support the dealers that actually care about Buell.

As for calling across the country, why would you do that? If you’re not sure, visit the sponsors thread, and ask. That’s what I would do. Also, because it’s on the internet, you’re not going to get a situation where one person answers the phone, says "what’s a BadWeb?".

I have heard that before, but personally, I have ordered from them many times with good results.

You're right of course ... but why should I burn up my time doing that? These guys are in business, are they not? I should be able to go to their web site or ad and see their BadWeb discount policy instantly.

e.g., "all BadWeb-ers get a 20% discount here, use code BW"

They are sponsors ...no?

>>but why should I burn up my time doing that?

I've been looking for a Porsche and was starting to get the impression that the best deal wasn't going to find me, I had to find it.

I'm not sure any phone company even charge long distance fees anymore but I found the internet to be my best friend and I found Herb Chambers in Boston.

If 20% as opposed to 10% (let's admit it here, we're talking most about $20 to $150 items so the nominal sum is small) is what floats your boat and you have " ordered from them many times with good results." I've got to wonder why you are wasting that valuable time here and haven't simply placed your order.

Let's cut to the chase . . . you're cheap and trying to save every nickel you can even if the process cost more than the purchase saves.

Not all in all a bad thing . . . I just don't have the time or the patience and once I get a "fair" deal I don't need to bicker a dealer to the beat up mode.

I want to walk away feeling like I got a fair deal and I want the dealer to have made a PROFIT (that elusive thing that pays all that training, benefits and so forth) so they'll be there the next time I come in.

Shop on dude . . . I'm off to pick up a ton of XP cop bike parts I ordered.

Court, my man, you’re spiking my BS meter, here, and you're condescending...which I can appreciate, actually, 'cause it's fun to do.

I get it, you’re the guru of all things both Buell and BadWeb – just don’t expect me to drink your Kool-Aid any time soon.

At any rate, this is probably not the best time to ask..., but what’s the chance of me getting a signed copy of your book for Rob, my Buell mechanic? I know it would mean a lot to him.

Cheers

I'm not condescending at all . . . . I'd stand by all the above as facts. Condescending would be if I made fun of you and I am not nor would I.

You are, and I'm as entitled to my opinion as you are yours, spending an inordinate amount of time "discount shopping".

Now that can be very cool if you have the time . . . I don't. Our opinions may vary based on the value of our time but I am not willing, in my case, to spend an extra hour looking around (by the way I found in minutes this morning a place on the internet that discounts all HD parts 20%) to save less than lunch costs.

I'm about to buy a complete set of ZTL2 brakes from Liberty for something on the order of $350. Would I be interested in saving another $17? . . .sure, but not if it takes more than 2.2 minutes to do so.

No problem on the book at all . . . and by the way . . . . I enjoy these types of discussion and I, unlike many on the internet, have no problem having a discussion in which the parties disagree and not seeing it as an argument. If that's BS to you it's simply because you have a different perspective. I laugh because I had to sit in a 3 hour law class at Columbia University last night and "argue" one side of a case for 60 minutes, then take a 15 minute break and argue the opposing view point for 60 minutes. I felt like Obama!

No problem on the book and it may be a bad time to say this but Liberty HD/Buell is selling them on line, autographed . . . and . . . (drum roll) AT A DISCOUNT !

Now Dave and I will have to come out of retirement and work again!

: )

Half way down the page Tanya, aka Deluxe, mentions the Halloween sale. 20% off from Oct 25 thru Nov 2 plus another week for us Badwebers. She is great to work with and they get stuff fast compared to other HD dealers I have tried to get parts from. 2 dealers in Wisconsin less than 60 miles apart and one can get the part in 3 days the other 10 days? Appleton HD gets my business now instead of my purchasing dealer just for that instance. Also they stock Buell parts which seems to be an oddity.

One thing that is very cool about Liberty . . . they always have TONS of stuff in stock.

Nice to have one of those dealers in my backyard though as I am sure you appreciate with Liberty. That is good to know if in a pinch someone needs a part yesterday. Try Appleton HD or Liberty or ?? not sure of any others that stock parts.

John:

Shoot me an E-MAIL with your address and I'll send you one.

Just so happens your mechanic works for one of my old time favorite folks in the world of Buell.

It'd be a honor . . . . .

For what its worth, I ordered my belt Friday afternoon from Liberty, and they had it in stock, so I went and picked it up this afternoon. Got my 10% discount, and they were doing some thing that if you hopped in a bus full of blood sucking vampires, you get a $10 gift certificate and some cookies. I got my belt for about the same price as the 20% place, and got free cookies, oh and I got to talk to Court in person for a little bit. Good luck getting Chicago to stuff in a bag of cookies and a tape of Court with your purchase : )
