Ok guys, I got access to this bad boy

Except mine is blue. I have used it a billion times to do tires on my car, so I know how to use it. The thing is, can I/Should I use it with my purdy blue XB rims? I would love to try it, but I am afraid of damaging the wheels because I don't even know if the machine can handle it. Is there some kind of motorcycle rim adapter I need, or would it work as is? Please stop me before I ruin something good. Hell I still got my Sunset Orange pair; I can use them as the guinea pigs : )

I have a hard enough time not scratching them using hand tools. Those rims chip easy.

On my ghetto manual tire changer, my no-scratch secret is,,,,,,

Milk jugs.

Cut em up. And place pieces b/t metal-to-metal contact.

Not sure if that will work on that fancy tire robot machine.

I will give it a shot then. Personally i was just gonna stuff some rags between the arms and the rim, but the jugs might work better. : )

Anti-freeze jugs work well too (thicker plastic).

Really any HDPE. I usually end up using strips from old oil bottles because that is what I have handy, but shampoo bottles are the best I have found.

Milk jugs or 2 litre bottles work great for me, but I still scratch stuff.

Don't tell anyone, but there may currently be a 4" square of milk jug inside the rear Scorpion Sync on my 9sx. I'm temporarily storing it there until the next tire change.

6" fatty strips from the industrial sized liquid laundry detergent will last forever -- I never thought of storing them inside my tires. Brilliant! : )
