07 Uly w/10,000 miles.
Build up of oil spray behind rear cylinder, on left peg and peg bracket. Possibly comming out of CV but it is not overfilled. Seems to be loosing three to four ounces every 1,000 miles. Setting level to two to three XXXs on bottom of stick. After checking hot, level seems fine, 10 minutes later (still warm) level barely shows on end of stick. I don't actually know if it is leaking or comming out somewhere. Don't see any seep on rear cylinder head.
What oil line connections run behind rear cylinder near top the of the bike?
Thanks.

Paul- Oil level change sounds normal. Possible leaks are one of the breather tubes pulling out of the bottom of the airbox. You can remove the airbox cover and inner airbox cover to check them.

Sounds like mine did with a leak at the rear rocker gasket. The fan sucks most of it right out of the area, and then it runs down on the left side of the swingarm and footpeg area.

Mine did it twice. Took the fan with it both times. I hadn't even noticed the leak when the fan quit the 2nd time, but the dealer said it was leaking again.

+1 on the rocker box gasket. Mine's also done it twice.

Chrisp, did your fan go at the same time as well?

I noticed mine leaking as well and got it into the dealership right away. There was a little oil around the fan, but it is still working.

I am wondering if I should have pushed to have the fan replaced at the same time as well.

Nope, fan seems to be fine.
How would something like this affect the fan? A little oil spray into the blades shouldn't have any impact on it's preformance should it?
I'll check the breather tubes, but there does not seem to be any visible oil on the rear cylinder head/rocker box or near the gasket seal.

Tony, the first time the gasket went, the fan died a slow death as well. I'm not sure how the two things are related, or even if they are. The fan seems to have held up the second time. If your fan is working normally, I wouldn't worry about it. Both times this happened to my bike, the fan was completely drenched and dripping with oil.

Just noticed mine leaking on my 08' Uly. From everyones experience is it just the gasket that fails or improper torque????

If there's oil on top of the motor behind the rear cylinder head, it might be the starter gasket. Easiest way to check is to clean everything thoroughly and spray some aerosol foot power around (e.g. tinactin). The oil leaks show up clearly in the white powder.

I just repaired my '07. Found the PCV valve in top of the rocker cover had pulled up. (probably from me taking the airbox base up.) I loosened the airbox base and pushed down on the valve and it clicked into place. Hopefully yours is this easy.
