Terry,

Were you and the wife on the Duc Sunday, heading south on 874 or turnpike in the afternoon?

Caught a glimpse of one as I was heading north from getting dirty.

Hey George.

No way man. As soon as I realized how snatchy that duc was I took the rear pegs off, just so she wouldn't ride on it. I would hate for her to slip off the back.

Ever been bit by a duck?

Here's what Engineer Pass, between Silverton & Ouray, CO, at 12,500 feet with rain & snow falling will do to a clean bike. Note the absence of a kick stand and clutch lever.... but that's for another thread.

Before

During

Hi Jose.

After...

Well there was really only one muddy section, a trail through the infield of Summit point. Had to see how the bike would do way out of its comfort zone.... Its definitely not a KTM in the nasty stuf but kicks butt most anywhere else. (duhh)

The weekend went well. Here are a few pics I took during the ride. I will post a few more when the other guys upload what they took, including a few action shots. Let's just say that I never received the memo about the Uly not being a dual sport.

After several miles of high speed fire road blasting.

Taking a break after a tough section

Notice the wimps with their lightweight, knobby-tired dual sports.

The Uly does ask us to be better off-road riders than we might normally be, allowing us to be bigger and more magnanimous than normal. They should put that in the marketing materials: "You sucessfully ride this bike like it should be ridden, and you have the ownership of bragging rights that no one else can claim."

I used to have a bunch of shots of the slime that would drizzle off the rear fender...it's so odd that one bike would create a unique crud pattern - like someone cracked a huge mud egg over the rear fender.

Love this bike...

Dirt 1

Dirt 2

Still my favorite "clueless bystander" comment: "What is that, some sort of a dirt bike?!?!"

Here are two more shots from the dual sport ride I was on

Climbing the rocky section.

Did you see the big rock about three feet in front of me in the last pic? Well, it was big enough to bring me to a sudden halt. My off road technique seems to be a bit rusty.

No worries, as help was close at hand.

Bear with a computer newbie. Some pics of copper canyon, on the way OUT, after a rainy morning.
