I've just installed a Zumo 550 on my XB12Ss and a Cardo Scala Rider Q2 bluetooth headset on my Shoei. I can hear the GPS prompts, get phone calls hands free, listen to MP3s stored on the Zumo and listen to FM on the Scala headset. I called a few friends while riding & they said I was perfectly clear plus I could hear them perfectly too. You can also talk bike to bike for a distance of 500 meters if the rider has the same headset. I personally don't care to listen to MP3s or FM when riding (too distracting) but the phone possibility (emergency calls), rider to rider com and GPS voice are just what I was looking for.

LOL! I want to upgrade to the 2820 for the MP3 and XM.

I find the phone and direction prompts too distracting!

Jerseyguy, can I ask where you got the Cardo Scala Rider Q2?

I think I am going with the same setup the Zumo 550 and the Cardo Scala Rider Q2. I will get two headsets, one for the GF...

I have a Quest (1) and have no complaints. The unit holds a base map of all US and most state highways that is permanently loaded. I load details only for the cities that I will be riding through or areas that I will be exploring.

The screen is easy to read (except when at glare angles) and response time to impromptu route changes seem good too. I don't find myself waiting for the unit to recalculate.

I also like the compact size. It is unobtrusive on the bike and easily fits into a coat or shirt pocket. It will run all day on its batteries when needed (hiking or bicycling).

F - eBay. There were several folks selling them. It cost ~ $150.

Jerseyguy, what about ear plugs? It dosen't look like it has noise canceling. Hell I know the Drummer CF has to be nice and loud too.

Froggy, There's 2 speakers that velcro inside your helmet. On the 1125 I can hear perfectly. On the XB with Drummer I can still hear fine when I'm not heavy on the throttle. The mike is right in front of your mouth. My wife says the sound on both bikes is better than when I'm using the cell phone or onstar in my Escalade.

On the down side, the mp3s sound tinny and FM reception is poor but I really don't care about that since I don't use those features.
