Have a chance to buy an 08 XT for $1000 less than an 09. Is there any difference between the two that would justify paying $1000 more for the 09? They are both new bikes at competing dealers. | ||

Engine cases are black on the 2009 and the foot pegs are black and there is a "new" belt. And the 2009 doesn't come in black. That's why I went with a 2008. | ||

I had heard that the belt was of a new material on the 09. I would think that the new belt will fit the 08 but I have to check. So far I don't see any reason to pay extra for the 09. Like you, I really like the black paint. | ||

I think you should be able to get one for less than MSRP out-the-door. I did and others seemed to have gotten that as well. | ||

I was quoted $12,500 at one dealer for an 09. I found the black 08 at yet another dealer for $11,500. I plan on making a decision Wed. 9/17. |
